I ordered seat bottom for driver’s side from MegaZip and covers from Covercraft (carhartt canvas). Do I need to cover the seat bottom in leather or cloth before putting on the Carhartt covers?
I don’t know how the carhartt covers work, they look like they are full covers which in my mind makes them a better choice if you don’t want to replace the torn factory leather on your seats. I had already replaced my seat leather a few years ago but now that the seat leather is new I notice every little stain, scratch on them. I covered my seats with the Duluth covers because they are not designed to be a complete cover and I think the Duluth color goes very well with my new Lseat leather. From having used them on my tow rig leather seats I already know they work and the canvas is super durable and can rert, mud, grease stains, sweat stains very well. I do not use anything between the Duluth covers and the seat bottom leather. They are placed directly over them.

Hope this helps.

Met up with some other 80 owners for a morning of wheeling.

I've been happy with my Carhartt covers from Covercraft so far, they might be of interest. Fitment is nice, no issues in the sun and heat, and I slide around much less.

Added these Duluth seat covers. I have had them in my tow rig for a few years and absolutely love them.

They are not completely installed yet. Have to pull the seats first to redo the stupid gears for the seat adjustment.
The Cabela seat covers in tan is what I have used for over 7 years and they have held up amazingly well. And they are only $20. I think you can't go wrong with these.

This is where you buy the gears. I bought 6 of them a few years ago to have as spares just in case.

These are the new reinforcement plates from solvefunction I will be adding this time around.

I honestly would just use the multiple YouTube videos and write ups that already exist here on mud.

If you do a simple search here on mud and on YouTube you can find a few very good how to.

Rebuilt my entire hand brake / ebrake with new shoes, fittings, bell cranks, equaliser and cable

All genuine Toyota parts and adjusted correctly to FSM spec

Was totally useless...

Ordered the Superior Engineering hand brake lever modification + Terrain Tamer extended dog bones from Australia. Fitted today. Now the ebrake works better than factory

Changed out the old broken connector to the distributor. Going to replace the one for the IAC once it gets delivered and hope that solves my electrical demon issues!
