Overlanding. Sorry. I forgot. I thought we were just camping. LOL
Did you see the before pic?

Even after hot tanking it is a bit dingy, we are going to paint it.
Cheers
Yeah, no doubt. The bearing was making noise over the past week, just finally failed yesterday (metal shards, locked up), I already had ordered the new clutch and luckily it arrived yesterday. Timing and luck, and LandCruiser sturdiness. I'll take a little luck where I can these days. You are lucky that did not destroy the radiator, fan shroud, hood and transmission cooler lines.
Properly wasted. How’s that for a wasted drive flange and toasted splines on the birfield.

This is always the fun part!

The after pic almost looks as if the hot tank was a little too strong for the aluminum. Maybe that's what @cruiserdan was referring to?
I was thinking that the rest of the engine looked nice and new so the valve cover looked out of character. No idea what Dan means exactly.
I think you are seeing tank residue.

A person could polish this with a buffing wheel but that is more time than we have planned-allowed for this engine build.
Cheers
Looks a wee bit windy!
You should totally chrome that thing. But you know what they say...No idea what Dan means exactly.

Minor bodywork done. Hired a shop to paint the bumper and fix the dents in the valance. They also repaired the only spot of rust on the whole truck. I am pretty happy how it turned out. Got it put back together and spent an hour cleaning off that dreaded bodyshop dust. Love the smell, but what a mess inside and out.
Paint, new grill, logo in Duplicolor "Shadow" black, new park lamps, new OEM wiper blades. A good weekend!

Debating weather to paint that suspension or just coat it with FlexFluid to keep in original. Truck is very clean and rust free overall. This rust spot was caused by a life on country roads and dust/dirt compacted in the fender well.
They are 285/75/16s. I’ve never run Firestone Destination A/Ts before, so I’m giving them a try. Got about 2,000 miles on them so far. What size are those tires please?
