The land barrier between Israel and Egypt consists of a concrete wall buried deep in the ground and a smart technological fence equipped with artificial intelligence. Since its inception, one person has not been able to cross the barrier, including terrorists, drug dealers and illegal immigrants. Alongside the fence there is a fast asphalt road that allows the forces to reach each point at lightning speed. Next to the road of the fence is the old civilian road.

Egyptian fortresses and watchtowers were built on the Egyptian side. And a funny patrol way that the gates of the fortresses turn to Israel and not as usual into Egyptian territory, since the threat is from ISIS and not from Israel, I know that trump announced that no more ISIS LOL

I want one. But seriously that looks like a really fun trip. That old timer war hero looks like he is ready to get his shank on. Totally awesome

Last trip of this season.
Trans-Negev from Jordanian deserts to Egyptian deserts. Three days and two nights. East to west across the entire State of Israel and the desert of the Negev. On Passover, the army opened the territories along the border with Egypt. All year round the area is closed for travelers. We ended the tour of the land barrier that was built between Israel and Egypt to prevent the passage of illegal immigrants and migrant workers from Africa who flooded Israel until the land barrier was established. This is the obstacle President Trump wants to build between the United States and Mexico

Amazing stories, and scenery. This looks like the “snow plant” we have here. But they’re bright red. Know what it’s called?

I haven't done it yet but I did buy a few things for the LC yesterday. I got the only VC120 charcoal cannister at Autozone locations in the East Valley. I will be installing that today when I get home. Along with that, I did buy some better spark plugs and a new cap/rotor. I wanna figure out this misfire issue.

I am 100% aware I am throwing money at an issue I should just take to the dealer. But I want to assure it is nothing I have changed out in the past.

If these are things you haven't already done then you're just doing some "while you're in there" stuff. :D

There very well may be some good honest dealerships out there, but for the most part I think taking your rig to a dealership for repairs is throwing money away. All they care about is selling new cars and upselling parts on cars that come in for scheduled maintenance. I am sure there are some very good toyota mechanics in your area. (Mesa Az) maybe someone else who knows a good mechanic in the area will chime in.... Good luck

Thank you. I know of a few good guys in the area and have picked their brain. Hopefully, it has nothing to do with the work the local dealer did back in Jan/Feb and 2800 miles ago. If it does they already said their work is 100% covered.

good posts - thanks for sharing.

Got a little bit more accomplished today even though I could only spend 2 hours on it. Throttle body off as well as upper half of inlet manifold. The inlet ports are caked in carbon deposits but I only realised at the last moment that you can't remove the lower manifold due to the cable harness..bummer. At least I have good access the PHH and the EGR tube...

I won my war of attrition against the venerable egr system.
Main 4 bulbs of instrument cluster are now red.
Hands free mic for the stereo is now up high where the "better" shops install them.
All wood grain accent from drivers area is now gone.
Did I put any miles on though? Nope.

And sometimes in the desert you meet special people. We found him in the middle of the desert. Beautiful and suitable sunset in the desert to the heart sad and lonely, lost in the desert searched for the camping area allowed for overnight. Which was only a mile away, the night came down and when he could not find the place he slept under the bush beside the path.
I shook hands with him and introduced myself Avi, Harley, he answered, just like his old tricycle motorcycle Harley Davidson from the fifties. He asked my age. I said 60, I asked him his age? I'm 64 years old. So I said we are the same generation, and he said no we do not, I survived the Yom Kippur War I was a young soldier. Where have you been? I was in high school, I answered ... I offered to lead him to the camp and he refused. We left him there in the desert looking for the parts of his soul and his fallen comrades who remained in the desert forever while stopping the full rage of the Egyptian army almost the only surviving member of his company.
