What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (83 Viewers)

Currently the 80 has been with fabricator for a custom bumper. But also had them do a quick job and fab this tray up for my switch-pros unit. Will make wiring lights and other accessories much easier and cleaner.

@slow95z do you have one of these things that hold the throttle cable? I wondered why mine was resting on the valve cover. Obviously there is something that attachs to the motor somewhere to hold it up.

That's what holds mine in on an 1FZ-F engine, don't know if it is similar with injection engines. It's also held on the air intake flexible tube a bit after the air-filter housing.

Dug the wife's camper out of the garage and went up to State Forest State Park for some family style camping with my parents and bro's Family. As usual, wife has all the good pictures. 80 pulled the camper like a boss--the lower speeds and grades up hwy 14 made it really easy compared to i-70

hey bud what size / weight camper were you pulling?

750# ish hiker trailer. Basically a teardrop without the aero shape.

Took the LX camping the other weekend. On stock suspension and 31 inch tires it showed it still had a tougher side under the fancy badging. Allowed me to take the last parking spot no one else wanted or could use :). I wasn't just posing. I promise. :grinpimp:

Also ran some roads that were a little rough in places. Nothing crazy but found some spots that having the CDL engaged made things easier. Photos don't show the tougher spots but we found some solitude and beautiful views.

I guess the suprise gas tank leak and subsequent mega quick tank rebuild weren't enough. Went to switch out the trans fluid and discovered major crap metallic fluid and no flow to the coolers even though it ran fine. I really couldn't trust it to make it to CO for Solid Axle Summit so in I went to swap in my spare transmission . It was a runner a dozen years ago so took a little chance. Two days later she is back running and shifts awesome. I am smoked tired but happy as can be. Step #6 or two and sleep up and roll tomorrow!

Got my QPM from @NLXTACY aka Wits’ End. Now I have a home for my Viair compressor (also from Joey). And need to figure out what else I want to do back there. I’m thinking a second fuse block.

Edit: forgot to mention how nice this thing is. Don’t know why I am always impressed with how nice Joey’s stuff is but damn it’s putty!
