Brilliant solution. Love the old school 'Burban, what is that? like a 77'-79?
This week new birfs, all bearings and seals, rotors, calipers, replaced the front axle backer plates (these were found through SOR, used but perfect), TD foam cell shocks thx Trail Tailor, Gorilla taped the sunroof seams = no leaks, crusty fuel filter replaced, cleared the axle breathers, greased the drive shafts, gave lots of money to my mechanic as I'm working too much to do any of this myself.
Hiccups were...prior person the do the pass side axle seal banged up the inside of the bell on the axle where the cv lives, we gently and slowly polished that out, they also lost a hub cone washer. Rear shocks were a pita, so just cut them out. The fuel filter and lines were so crusty we were apprehensive about being able to take it off without breakage, solution was to take a larger section out put the whole thing on the bench pb blaster and it came right apart, it looked much worse than it was, the fittings were fine under the crust.
Bonus: mechanic at first was pissed when he saw what I brought him, after he has been working on it including all the engine baseline stuff, fixed leaks everywhere, new radiator, hoses, etc. , and I lent him my FSM, he is now a believer.
A big thank you to everybody here for great advice and to all the vendors that provided professional and knowledgeable service and parts.
Next up....motor mounts, they are not broken, just really old and new ones should make it feel silky smooth.
Edit: tried to do the maiden voyage in the sand 3 places and all closed for this storm surge tonight, grr. Really wanted to see how the 31x10.5's handle the soft sand. If they work without having to air down too much. rather not go bigger when the shoes I got the truck with have plenty of meat. at least not yet...

Finished up my front brake bracket extension:
When I took the hunk of steel and test fit it, it hung out of line with the upper bracket mount points...
So I hung it at an angle.
I have very little experience with brake line bracket extending so please let me know if this is all wrong.
ALso, I have only a 2.5” lift, should I do a bracket for the rear as well? Seemed like maybe not as the line attaches near the middle...

That first slider looks pretty skatable
Jus installed my sliders (all by myself) and it was a huge PITA, they are super tight and look great. Unfortunately one of my cats is making contact and I'm getting this annoying f$#&ing rattle. Anyone have any suggestions on raising the exhaust so it doesn't rattle???

front diff drain 'n' fill. Unfortunately, the plug is covered in moly grease. *SIGH*. Already have the knuckle rebuild kit from Beno.
Also, passed emissions, finally, on my 5th try. Yay! All it took was --> VSV and EGR modulator, and all the vacuum lines replaced (and vacuum passages cleaned) --> 1.2 drop in NOx --> wait for a warm day, pump up the tires, replace aftermarket fuel pump from PO with Denso, reset timing from PO (16??!!?) to stock (3) --> dropped another 1 pts --> wait for a really warm day --> dropped to 0.2 above passing --> replaced my O2 sensor upstream of the cats (on suggest of/and with help from Robbie while Beno laughed at me, supportively) --> dropped down another 0.8 pts!
Now I'm at 1.1424 HC, 8.8212 CO, 3.2841 NOx. The weird part is, I had no CEL for any of this. (Yes, the bulb is alive and well)
now on to the knuckle rebuild, and likely removal of the front axle to send it off and have the pinion bearings replaced. DOH.
Oh and I sealed up the holes under the weather stripping on the rear quarter panels to try and stop any leaks.
