Drove out to TDS in Ocotillo wells, CA with a buddy of mine and his Family. Had a good time. Got to put some more dirt under the landcruiser. Saw a few landcruisers, 40s 60s 80s a couple of 100s and a 200. Lots of fun, and I got to play support crew for my friends Ford. His alternator wasnt charging properly, so I had to give him some Toyota Juice! Their Broncos were on 42 and 47s so my 80 was tiny next to them lol.

It works great since you dont have to stake any legs down. Quick to deploy and stow. Now I just need a poptop like the campteq that @LandCruiserPhil has and I will be set. But I did get to use my camping labs rtt and slept like a baby! The beer probably helped

80 liter Dometic freezer is doing great. I’ve had it set at 32 degrees since October. Running off two RENOGY 150’s and a 2150 Odyssey battery. Nonstop.

Turning heat into cold with only solar. Pretty cool.

Turning photons of light into cool to keep my Coca Cola cold.
That is amazing efficiency, I have a solar setup and 2 6 volt golf cart batteries in my pop up tc, but it is about 8 years old now, but could never run the fridge for more than a couple days max, even in the sw sun. Did you design the system? I need to upgrade and those are amazing results, would love to copy it.

Took a first crack at the EGR deletion; 4.7k ohm resistor and a M10x1.25 bolt to plug the temp sensor hole. A more refined deletion to follow.

Did my rear hubs. New bearings, seals and grease. Should keep it going for another 24 years. The preload on one side was woeful and the bearing was also very rough. I didn't feel it when driving so likely not too bad. Both oil seals on the axle we're shot but I gather this is pretty common.
Will tackle the fronts when I get back from Latvia.

I got my new OEM steering pump, 2.0kw starter, and Photoman bracket with OEM Sequoia 150amp alternator. Also installed power steering cooler.

Things are going more smoothly now that I’m looking at the correct knock sensor. It looks like someone confused RTV for solder...

Scraped the sensor clean with an x-acto knife, sniped off the female connector, and added a pigtail with my best impression of a lineman splice:

I didn’t have time to test drive but I’ll get her out on the road before week’s end for quick jaunt to see if the code 52 is gone.

Took the ride for a spin today and the Code 52 is not gone...

I scraped the blade connector clean, filled the cavity with dielectric grease. The sensor passed the OHM as well.

Not sure where to do next. Any ideas?

Wow, you carried that grill out there?

Upgraded, or should I say downgraded to pinch style terminals, and cleaned all connections and grounds. Used to have the “military style” heavy duty terminals but they came loose too often. Running @Fourrunner heavy duty wire kit and @sleeoffroad headlight harness. Also replaced starter. Chasing an intermittent starting stumble in morning. Missed TDS because, newborn. Was able to take the 3 year old to Mount Laguna for some snow. And rain. And fog. And mud.

Replaced the charcoal canister, but, but, but... I retained the bottom bracket while using the AC Delco canister.

I have to thank @GW Nugget and Texas Knowhow for their inspirational videos which made me think there is a way to retain the bottom bracket with the larger size canister and not bother the wire loom under the fuse box.

@NLXTACY eat your heart out. I told you I'm handy with a hammer and I can fix even electrical issues with it.

Well done, you have more determination than me... I just zip tied it... I'm not going for any purest points.

A power steering pump, hoses & cooler is one of my next things on the list. Do you have any tips or things you learned?
