Made some progress. Missing a few more parts but 4x4 labs has sent them quickly. Hopefully I will get the tire carrier and jerry can carrier done and mounted tomorrow.Then i can clean up welds and send it off to powder coat.
Hit the 505 end to end, she hit back, saw a moose, broke some stuff, got stuck(driver error), made some new friends. Strong pucker moment on the Eldora end around a half mile in.

That's just the resonator. You'll have to cut it off anyways when you add a 4x4Labs rear bumper.Chinaman Gulch also removed my rear tailpipe for me after reshaping it multiple times, which allowed me to melt the factory bumper on the drive home.@LC4LIFE this bumper probably wont survive the winter, both sides caved in and pointed every which way!

went to Uwharrie. Dutch John was a little messy due to rain earlier in the week. Didnt get to do Dickey Bell due to broken down Jeeps on the trail.

I got a dilemma. The interior is a 10/10 (seats are like brand new under the covers and carpet is perfect). Runs like a top. BUT it has a little rust behind the driver’s wheel well and on the passenger side rear door. Negotiating. This will be for my son if the price ends up being right. Will know tomorrow!

His asking price was unrealistic. But he’s motivated. (Thank you to his wife!) I offered him a fair price for a 31 year old Land Cruiser with 201k miles, rust, bad tires, and oxidized paint. If he doesn’t take it my son will continue to have to drive his 80. I think he’ll survive...
60 prices around here are out of this world right now... Cheaper to buy a 100 series (almost...)
I arranged shipping for another new to me fzj80. That's 3 this year.
Oh yeah, forgot about my “on trail repair” of the resivoir to the radiator. I noticed it was leaking, so I popped the hood to see it not on it’s bracket and the bracket rubbed a hole into it. I took it out and tried to figure out what to do. The plastic felt similar to a ziptie I had. Grabbed a lighter and set it to low, after cleaning off the bottle I started in with the heat, going very slowly. As it just started to melt I started melting the ziptie into it too, like welding rod. I filled the entire hole and then smoothed it out with a little more heat and let it cool. Well, 400+ miles later, 1/4 of that was off-roading if not more, it’s still not leaking. I’m surprised, but the repair actually looked good. I’ll prob put some epoxy in it soon to make sure it doesn’t fail, but my buddy(diesel mech) was very impressed by it and me for coming up with it. I’ve never plastic welded successfully before, so I was more surprised than anyone.
