What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (96 Viewers)

I just went to a metal supply shop and bought 2x pieces of 1" scrap roughly the size of the original plates, no fancy curves but they worked great to R&R every bushing on my truck and they were only $20 for the pair. I also picked up various round stock scrap pucks for pushing the bushings out. It is very exciting when some of those pop loose! My 20 ton HF press did a great job.

Slept in the 81 for the first time. I used a Coleman cot with one end resting on the folded down second row. I'm pretty happy with the setup as it is easy to remove, takes very little space and is comfortable for me at 6'2". I also got to try the Webasto thermo top for cabin heat. I can start it using keyless entry a couple hours before sleep and come to a nice warm cabin. Probably not the most efficient way to stay warm from a time perspective (since it has to heat the engine block first), but it hardly made a dent in fuel or voltage.

That's cool to hear about the 20 ton press! Sometimes I start with a HF item, and if I end up using it a lot and need something of higher quality, I'll get that at another time. The mild use (1-2x a year) the press would see, it should last me while hopefully. Got to do my panhard bushings and wheel bearing on my Camry so I'm ready to get one.

What is the definitive answer on O2 sensors for 93-94? I'm getting a recurring Code 28 periodically. Time to pull the trigger. I've heard conflicting discussions on different brands to use but can't remember. @Cruiserdrew @half k cruiser @Tools R Us @inkpot @baldilocks

IIRC the 93-94 vs 95-97 use different brands. Bosch vs Denso or something. Thanks.

IIRC, OBD rigs have NTK, OBD2 rigs have Denso.

I purchased my 80 on Monday 6/26/2017.

100% Original, 1 owner last 20 years, triple locked and only 168,000 miles.

I know.....

I preferred a Dark Green, but this just couldn't be passed up..

Dude! Set your goals higher!! Dark Green is almost as bad as burgundy! (Full disclosure: I own a dark green 93...)

Began the process of prepping my INTI rack to receive a new James Baroud RTT next month. Removed the front mesh grill and old halogen PIAA lights that had been mounted there and removed all the side rails and CVT Awning. Will be using existing light wiring to mount two 20" LED bars that'll sit below the rack base as well as replacing the two side lights and rear lights with LEDs. Rack looks very naked without the lights and railing right now! No pics yet. Did take the opportunity to put down a coat of Zaino Bros polish to the roof and will add a couple more coats before the RTT goes on as the center won't be reachable easily once it's on.

No, really, that's a GREAT looking truck! Being second owner with low miles to boot! Congratulations!

We ALL have our crosses to bear.......

NTK from amazon worked perfectly on my 94.

@LS1FJ40 I have a '94 and read tons of threads on which O2 sensors to get, because there are so many reported problems with the sensors on the '93-'94 years, specifically. Seems like the scale eventually tips in favor of OEMs, mainly because the success with non-Toyota brands seems to be hit or miss. I ended up getting this "set" from these guys (no affiliation, just the cheapest I could find): O2 Sensor Kit for 8/92-12/94 80 Series Cruisers [89465-60110] - $292.83 : CruiserParts.net, Toyota Landcruiser Parts

I've had NTKs, and they were fine (although they didn't help me chase down my code 26)...but when the Toyota sensors arrived in the mail and I opened the box, I just remember thinking how the quality of them was just that little bit nicer, if only in appearance (btw, the OEMs helped with the code 26, but in reality, the main culprit was something else entirely).

:)

I would go straight to oem toyota O2 sensors.
