What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (61 Viewers)

Installing new radiator, heater valve, throttle cable, fan shroud, window washer diverter, hoses, and blinkers.

Hopefully this wraps up the maintenance portion and I'm ready to have a reliable FZJ80.

I wanna get into the fun mods like bumpers, lockers, lift, and roof rack.

Guess I need to add my weekend report.
We rolled out Friday afternoon with a full load.

Spent a good deal of time Saturday at the lake with friends. Mine ended up being the only watercraft anyone in our group brought, so it was pretty popular.

@GW Nugget and I got away for a few hours in the afternoon to run part of the Park Ridge trail. There's a couple videos we need to get on YouTube, but here's a pic from the trail.

Sunday most of our friends left midday, but we stayed a couple more nights at a cabin. Monday was a family trip into Kings Canyon, with awesome views of waterfalls, rapids, & towering cliffs.

We even caught a butterfly on the way home.

Finally, after almost 8 months, I was able to get to detail the exterior. Sorry for the potato grade photos, but after a wash, a full clay bar and wax, the truck's paint is silky smooth. I feel like I have a decent rig for the rust belt. Couldn't find more than a couple spots that I might want to run the buffer over. Not having a roof rack is really nice. I am kinda smitten with this thing.

Should your license plate maybe say Magoo-dan? ;) That looks like enough light for a small village!
No its Magadan name after a song I like and also a city in Russia and speaking of the lights I'm removing the top 2and keeping only the lower 2

:)
Finished the bedliner and mounting of the wkor sliders and messed around with a diy awning setup. It's a little tall and crooked in this pic, but it looks like it'll work until I figure out how much I want to spend on a fancy one lol

Love the color on that one. Your tarp looks like it tips back too much

That awning would look great if you could shorten the two legs.

That's sketchy! I had my trackbar come loose about a year ago. It didn't drop out completely like yours but the steering was feeling loose. When I checked it the nut on the trackbar was hanging on my 2 threads. Glad you didn't have an accident! The torque spec on that bolt is insanely high (can't remember the spec off the top of my head) but crank it down TIGHT!
Hit it with a paint pen to be able to quickly visuably check it.

Chopped and extended my LRCAs.
Doubled sleeved with 1" solid cold roll internally and 1 3/8" outside.

:steer::steer::beer::beer::wrench:I started pulling parts to *finally* so my oil pump cover o-ring and front crank seal. What I discovered is that I need a new radiator...

Looking through the records I've learned that this rad lasted 8 years and 80k, so probably a Koyo or equivalent. I also learned I'm on my original water pump at 267k.

So now I'm thinking OEM rad & water pump. In true 'mud fashion, a $ job has become $$$...

On the bright side, I'm REALLY glad I discovered this time bomb at home next to the toolbox.

Very
Finally got her home from her new paint job. Also while I had her stripped I had the Trail Tailor bumper powdercoated. Still a few things to button up...
Very nice!
