Not sure if you are interested but they have seat belt extensions that plug in for people on the plus side...
Of all the products I never thought I'd buy. Thanks, I'll look into it!

You can also pull a seat belt from the passenger side front and place it on the DS retractor. The PS is 8-10" longer than DS.
Great info, thank you! Might actually do this then. My wife is only 120 pounds, so swapping the two would work great if that is correct. Thanks!

This is all great info but I don't consider myself on the plus side, just big boned.
Yep, me either. My linebacker days have been over since college, but kids and beer have added a few pounds over the years too!

I'm not as svelte as you are. I tried multiple combos of seat belts because my DS belt was shredded from the PO. I bought a set of belts from a wrecked LX and I used the PS, not knowing at the time that the two were different lengths. The first time I used the third row belt, but it was about 6" SHORTER and I could barely pick up a pen from the CONSOLE. After installing the PS belt in the DS retractor (I also tightened the spring 3 extra turns.) I can now pick up things off the PS floor with my belt still on. I am glad, because I do NOT want to buy an "extender."

The belts is a bit tight on the retractor at full retract, so it doesn't always go all the way back in and hangs somewhat. It doesn't bother me because when I'm in it, I'm driving. It still works well when the wife wants to drive it.

Driving the 80 with the kids. So we saw a few sports cars and they were talking about how they liked them and they could go faster than us. I said 'yea but i can go places they wouldn't even dream about driving to'

And then my son said, yea like the auto parts store.

I'm not sure how I should take that.

Larry Briggs, you probably know this, the sunroof can be opened and closed manually. Take the map light cover off, there is an access hole forward of and between the two switches where a common screw driver can be used to open and close the sunroof. The FSM shows a special tool for the job (a common screw driver shank bent 90*).
I was not aware of that little secret. Thanks for the info.

The big trouble I'm havingredients is that the drivers side seems to not want to go all the way forward and up into place. I haven't pulled it apart yet to find out why, but I suspect that maybe some piece of headliner got caught up in there. I will take all the troubleshooting advice I can get. Thanks

Like my kids say now, "You just got roasted!"

I'm a week late but Memorial Day weekend was love/hate ....

Got a great deal on a full roof rack and RTT only to have it completely blow off the car since it was strapped down to the factory roof rack. I learned a very important lesson about securing items down that day. Brand new rack probably done for...and the RTT definitely has some issues that need to be addressed. We ended up hitting hungry valley OHV still and saw a ton of 80's...the most I've ever seen in one place in my life. Did a couple of trails with the cruiser but mainly gave the new dirt bike most of the attention :)

This thing was flat ...

If anybody has any recommendations on straightening out the roof rack, feel free to PM me. I'm not really sure what to do with this thing now :frown:

Just going to tease a few. Will do a full write up.

Are those the OE-style shim clips? I bought a toyo joint for my mini truck at one point and the shims were about half as thick as they needed to be

The clips are the same as OEM I've compared these to the 60, 80 and 100 series and installed them as well. The TOYO joint has been copied by China. If you ordered it from Amazon or Ebay.... more than likely you got a Chinese knock off. These are ordered directly from TOYO in Japan.

The Chinese copy says "Japan Spec" on the box, which is NOT the case or the same. I first started buying these through a AU seller and now directly from TOYO.

After having the ARB for a month, l finally got tired of seeing the AC receiver drier. A 0.75" shorter Denso unit was only $14 and seemed like a safer option than bending the lines.

I was able to use the awesome refrigerant machine at work, which is way better than using a manifold. When recovering the old r134a ,only 0.8 lbs came out of the system!
Strangely I couldn't find any leaks and the system held vacuum, so I went ahead and recharged it with 1.8 lbs of r134a and 10 ml of pag46 oil.

Do the AC systems on these trucks have any common leak points?
