Where is your fuel line located in relation to your exhaust? I know you said you're running a stock fuel line setup, but are you running your exhaust inboard of the frame? If so, I'd imagine you'd be really close to the passenger side exhaust...

One little step closer, Pretty much knew the toyota SR5 wheels wouldn't clear but figured maybe with the skinny 33x10.50's they might. Close but no cigar. I could put a small 1/4" spacer but that defeats the whole purpose of building a wider...

I'll get a battery in my caliper and measure. But yes, there is a taper just inboard of the bearing and then the neck down you see in the photo. However, the OD on the splines is extremely close to the OD on the main part of the shaft. I...

I've been thinking about this axle a lot for a future project, so I picked one up. I got it really cheap so if I don't use it, I can just sell it. @White Stripe , here is a pic of the splines. My caliper battery died but I was able to feel...

Alright, the axle is officially under the 4runner. So officially solid axle. Hope to have on its own tires on Friday.

Long story short: Purchased as a "Garage Queen" a few years back. (102k) Hit a deer at O-Dark-Thirty one morning at the top of a pass on my way to work. Went rounds with the insurance company for 7 months before reaching an agreement. Most...

Here is my latest update on the Dana 44. I am wrapping up my gear install with my set up bearings. I may add .02 again at final bearing install. I had put in some extra and it seemed to get too deep quick. So I will see. :) Passenger...

someone asked in a private message about the Ford 9" I built - how it's holding up 2 years later and if I'd do anything different - so I thought I'd share the reply The Ford 9 is still doing great. 35 spline is the way to go, enough beef...

Not the most exciting picture, but after dealing with some cooling system issues, we're happy to say the long drive from CA to OK went without any issues. We stopped along the side of the road east of Taos in NM to stretch our legs.

You need to get a copy of the EWD as you'll be pretty blind without it. It will tell you what all the ECU controls as well as all of the chassis wiring you'll have to interface with, if any.

I think the guys was probably being a jerk. I'm in the front range area and doing a 2uz swap on my 80. Last year I spoke with the referee at the Denver Emissions Technical Center and he said he looks at swaps all the time. He said the main...

Sure, total external dimensions it's "only and inch or two" but it's just beefier in general. Was just looking at some 200s parked next to my LX yesterday and noticed for instance the hood is a good 3 inches taller and the beltline as well. The...

yeah, like @mjosoba said, the brake pedal bucket would be the same for auto and manual but the auto would have a wider pedal pad. If the person doing the swap used a factory pedal bucket, it pretty much bolts right up next to the brake pedal...

My 100 series was a great vehicle for me. I went to the 200 series as it was a better tow vehicle for my camper. The 200 is overall nicer more comfortable, more power with neat add on's like the Cool box I also wanted the 200 series after...

I really like the Dana 44 and have built a bunch over the years, having great luck with up to 37's. I like being able to easily build the housing the width I want. I hate wheel spacers too, keeping the wheel center close to the steering pivot...

@Romer , @mcgaskins you've wheeled both pretty heavily, what say ye?
    • Stuckinthe80s
In the big scheme of things, it really isn't any different than a manual swapped 62 series. The bell housing they used to do this swap is stamped "3F" and the H42 was designed to bolt directly to it. Actually, what I should probably say is that...

For a similar mileage and condition 200 (at the time I was shopping years ago) I found that I had about 25,000 reasons to go with the 100.

I have both. I owned a 100 for a year and then bought a 200.. I do like the smaller aspect of the 100 wheeling in my area. The 200 is a completely different animal. It’s marginally bigger outside and feel twice as big inside. The 200s power...

I like the smaller footprint and 1000lbs less mass. The 100 is the sweet spot between old cruisers and new tech. The 200 is a beast for sure. I could have a stock 200 or a pimped out 100. I prefer pimped out 100 :)

lol, oh snap, where am I? Meh, my 80 has, well, had the heart of a 62 so that's close enough. ;)
