Little bit of progress, added the hitch receiver and recovery points...

And also attached the bumper to the frame. Here you can see the integrated body mount. Just need to make an additional brace/support for the tow hitch.

Didn't go anywhere this weekend so I continued working on the bumper. Finished the driver's side wing...

Ran out of plate to finish the passenger side wing so I started on the kickouts...

I got bored and needed a way to carry a spare outside for a trip this weekend. So... 1/4 plate and three wheel stud later, the dirt bike rack is also a tire carrier. ..not real practical, I know. I'll build a swing out soon.

Can you still carry the dirt bike on it with the spare attached? I know it will be laying out flat on the bar, but I was wondering if it would do in a pinch......

I finally pulled the PS pump off the 92 with a 3fe to reinstall the pulley. With a new woodruff key it still wobbles on the shaft. Is it supposed to do that?

@jcardona1 I had to Save Image on that Biggie pic!
While we're on the topic, here's Sac town's finest, Saafir, rolling in his Cruiser.

But he's from Oakland. :P

Surprised anyone in here knows about Saafir or the Hobo Junction. :)

Drove my 80 600+ miles over the weekend. Packed the whole fam dambly in it and very little bitching this time about how uncomfortable everyone was.

Didn't go camping, but did go out on some very dry level B service roads to just creep around. Was hoping for actual mud or something to climb, but nothing on either front.

Drove well, runs BEST on 91+ octane with no ethanol! I actually hit 100 mph with it passing a couple trucks, NOT going downhill, but I did have the wind at my back!

this happened.

Was driving down the road and noticed tons of warning lights. I pulled over thinking it overheated or something. Would not start up again. Looked under the hood, everything looked fine. Got a jump but ran strangely... and for some reason wouldn't shift out of park. Still tons of warning lights.

Towed it to the shop and I guess it was a bad alternator. I'm confused why that could wreak so much havoc on the vehicle. I'm just glad it happened a mile away from my mechanic and not 2 weeks ago when I was in the middle of nowhere in Canyonlands!

**EDIT: it was the alternator. Had gotten soaked in oil from my leaky distributor. I've fixed all the leaks but didn't know the alternator had gotten drenched :) **

I claim that one!
Such a shame to leave it so close to the Rubicon to go backpacking:meh:
Hey we'll get fat just sitting in the truck...Any pic's?

Went camping, changed a flat tire, gave the landcruiser a wash (hadn't been washed in a few years :hillbilly: and had the tire repaired.

It is good to have a friend with a welder. A nice bolt did the trick. Thanks Alvin!

I really do need to learn how to weld.
