Yes a huge air to air in front of the radiator and the trans cooler gets relocated as part of the kit.

When you get it going can you do another "No worries, be happy" vid?

Took it on a mild trail ride to put brush marks and some mud on the new paint.

Did you say that's Moonglow Pearl? Looks so gray for a base coat.

One step closer. Tomorrow is wet sanding, polishing and buffing. Sorry for the reflection, she's a bit shiny :p

Made up some bushing press tools so that I can start replacing some bushings that I ignored first time around. I threw them up on the site as well.

Now THOSE would have been handy about a year ago. Small price to pay given the hassles of NOT having a set.

It is supposed to be Moonglow. Who really knows. I am finding out paint is a mystery topic and I am not sure why.

I'm not sure I've even seen another Safari turbo'd 1FZ in all my time on this site, very cool! Is it intercooled as well?

What do you mean by "another"? There are a few on this site, but most have been quiet lately.

I could do one for you! 6% grade from 6100 to 7700 ft on I-70 just west of Denver. I think I can hold 75 in overdrive, though I will have to go there sometime with no traffic.

Got done finally baselining my FZJ80. I used this Valvoline Trans fluid and the transmission won't shift. At the dealer currently getting the trans fully flushed out and filled with OEM fluid. I was under the impression after doing my research that the Valvoline ATF would work. IDK guess I didn't research it enough.

One the other hand the radiator fix held so maybe I won't have to shell out anytime soon for a new radiator.

Don't forget to add the purchase option where I drop by and let you install them for me as well!:D

Not the weekend but my new weathertech floor mats came in for the 93. Ditched the 24 year old carpet mats. They are disgusting.

Also felt the plastic box of the evaporator as I was swapping out the mats. Condensation.

Got my transmission fluid test results. Gotta love hearing "check back in 40,000 miles". Haha

Sofinally decided to give some love and bling to the poor cruiser. Got a HPS intake tube from Amazon. I then changed the wiper while I was at it.

That would be my choice in ATF too, if I can't find Chevron MD-3 anymore.
I can't see why Max Life would be bad for your tranny, unless there is something else going on at the same time and it is pure coincidence.

How did you drain and refill the transmission? Did you overfill by any chance?

Update:
Dealer didn't end up doing the trans fluid change. They said all the solenoids are bad.

I took it home to fix it myself. So probably the Valvoline is ok. I need to get @cruiserdan opinion if it's all the solenoids that are bad or just the shift 1 and shift 2 solenoids.

I used the same ATF last year total 16 quarts via transcooler method drained 3quarts added 3 quarts and shifted thru all the gears...4K miles
up to date and all is well....I didn't read your entire thread...was your tranny shifting properly before you did the ATF change?

What type of epoxy (brand) did you use on your rad. Is it leak free?
