Definitely didn't chip one of the teeth on the power steering gear and am now not looking for the replacement gear part number...

This is happening! And for those of you that said that the front springs "just fall out"... :flipoff2:

I drove her to Harbor Freight with my sales coupons in my pocket. I got: a nicer-than-anything-I-have camp chair (fold-down side table on one side; pouches on the other) for $19.99 ($8.00 off); 14' of 3/8th size, grade 43, tow chain with clevis hooks on each end for $21.99 ($18.00 off); and, a flip-up face shield (for use when I'm washing off the undercarriage and inside the wheel wells) for $2.99 ($1.00 off). I also got a 6' lifting sling (no coupon) to use as a tree saver for $11.99.

Got the front springs and shocks in. Fought getting the old ones out. Made a trip to Vato Zone and rented a spring compressor. Wish I had done that from the get go.

I'm very impressed with the quality of the Tough Dog springs and shocks. They are beefy as hell. Springs appear to be about 50% thicker than stock OEM springs. Shocks are substantially larger than the OEM Tokico as well.

Gained about 2.5" over the OEM springs. This is perfect for what I wanted.

I'll report back on ride quality tomorrow after I get the rears done. Ran out of day...

Also filled the knuckles as they are leaking. Finally replaced the knuckle plugs on both sides. One was butchered up bad. I had them sitting around and figured now was the time. I pounded a 13mm socket on to it and backed it out.

And used my patented ziploc method to fill the knuckles.

I NEED to do the knuckle job!!

Remember that they are based on OE factory height. So, I imagine it is a true 2"(50mm) lift as the old springs had some sag over the years.

I like it when a product is what it says it is... I hate buying a 2" lift and it turns out to be a 2.5-3.25"

I can get the 80 series from stock height to a 6" lift as well. Glad you like the quality so far.

Agreed. I was hoping I wouldn't end up 3-3.5" of lift. I just wanted a little bit of lift. Looks better in the mall parking lot that way. :grinpimp:

Urban Dictionary: Flatbiller

Just in case anyone else is hearing the term "flatbiller" for the first time. Guess I should get out more often.

Sounds like that Definition covers almost every one of us. It actually made more sense to me before I read what It ment. I Think ?

Admittedly, I've been caught uttering "bro" and I used to ride dirt bikes and talk about it like I now talk about 80's. Good times bo!
