What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (60 Viewers)

Connected with a great, ecumenical offroad group I'm a member of in Denver and headed down to Ouray for some camping and wheeling. We stayed at the Ironton townsite (ghost town) with dispersed camping and tackled Black Bear Pass and Imogene. HIGHLY recommend those trails for amazing scenery!

My stock receiver hitch was rusted badly, enough that I could stick my fingers through the holes in the side plates. Threw that away, and made a little version to bolt to the pintle-hitch holes in the rear bumper. Not really planning on towing anything with it, possibly my tiny trail trailer at some point...but I wanted something there anyway.

That could be the basis for a good "el cheapo" spare tire mount.

Did the new Rim Rocker trail Moab to Montrose (166 miles) with an added 40 miles to Telluride, all dirtView attachment 1310239

How was the trail? Conditions, speed? Is this a 2 day minimum or could you cruise it in a day. More info please.

New center console and new stereo. Waiting for some speakers to show up. The Tuffy box is sweet. You gain an incredible amount more storage room, two nice cup holders, and lots of options for mounting accessories like fuse box, inverters, radio, etc.

My only concern would be what that thing is like in a side impact. Maybe I am Safety Sally (or not as tough as your average Mudder) but it looks like it could inflict some damage.

I had this puppy in my 62... dang it was nice and 4 CUPHOLDERS!!!1~

plus it was nice and cushioned. Just didn't leave much room for the handbrake.

Wife and I drove the Wart Hog to Stevensville Maryland for a day of Rockfishing on the 42' "Retirement Fun". Wife and I were lucky enough to land the two biggest Rockfish of the day. Was a fantastic day to be on the Chesapeake Bay with temperatures in the low 80s and no humidity. Added a few pounds of fish fillets to the deep freeze.

I doubt a side impact is going to cause anything more than minor movement. Or are you talking about the occupants slamming sideways into it ? Those WRX seats have huge side bolsters, I doubt you would ever touch it.

No sorry. I was just winging it and trying to limit expense if the project, plus i believe it was a non standard application. I picked them up used and they came with a set of 62 slides bolted on. I maded some tabs and brackets to relocate the securing hole on feet to 80 dimensions and welded them to the 62 feet to bolt down
