Took a few mins to appreciate a sight that I've been working towards for about 7 months now. I bought my cruiser last December knowing it need a fair amount of tlc due to the previous owners neglect. So it pretty much just sat in my driveway this entire time waiting for my garage to open up. My wife's car had a massive oil leak that I chased for about a year before finally pulling the motor to replace the rear main seal. Life kind of got in the way and it was really hard to get anything done until this last week. I finished her car last night and pulled the Cruiser in. Let the fun begin!

Oh and the LS motor is 100 pounds lighter and much smaller than the inline 6. Another bonus is my gas mileage will go up dramatically with the 6L80E trans and I will have much better gear ratios for overdrive and crawling.

100lbs? It sounds like a lot of weight. How much does it weigh?

I swapped out my fuel injectors yesterday with the Bosch 4hole injectors. It runs so much smoother and starts up within one or two seconds. It ran good before too but it always took a few or more seconds to start up. I could feel hesitation and what sounded like a misfire when I accelerated. I went through and put in new air filter, air intake hose, pcv valve and hose, valve cover gasket, valve cover vent hose, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, fuel pump,vc120. All of that didn't seem to help so I did the injectors and vacuum hoses on the bottom of the upper intake manifold yesterday and bam. The sewing machine sound is a little louder and the thing is so smooth now.

The one thing I now look back on and go Duh is when I put in some Royal Purple fuel system cleaner and I could tell a noticeable difference for a day or two. Right then I should have changed the injectors.

An all aluminum LS is easily 100lbs lighter than the chunky 1FZ. I would bet even more if he uses a composit intake manifold, etc.

100lbs? It sounds like a lot of weight. How much does it weigh?

Washed off a lot of dirt but none of the memories. 30 days. 7224 miles. 13 states. Half dozen epic trails. And a bunch of new friends.

Plus oil change and tire rotation

But now I wanna see black canyon in the white mtns :)

golgo i think you've been in detroit too long! tell toyota to get the hell outta there.....somewhere more sensible and as far away from GM as possible.!! like say Iowa!~!

GM is rubbing off on toyota!! cars are getting crappier and uglier!
I've got a good buddy at Toyota Tech in Michigan that is very passionate about his work, which makes me happy. I must say though, corporate Toyota needs to be less "VANILLA" (@scottryana 's words iirc)

Just finished having new 5.29's put in by Mark Whatley. So glad I went with these gears. I debated it a lot, between 4.88's and these, but after reading on here the arguments for both, but up here in Alaska, the places I have gone and want to go more to, would benefit from 37's or bigger. Now all I need is to add a little more to the height, and I'll be happy.

After the first year of eventful ownership, all I did this weekend is drive the darned thing. And I drove it a few miles up the road to visit the Maybach Museum and visitor center.

You know how LC owners keep obsessing about adding cup holders? Well, Maybach automobiles come with Champagne icers as standard equipment.

I also discovered a new form of entertainment: Pull into a parking lot where Porsche 911 owners are having a meeting, and watch the nervous looks and displacement activities they make when you pull next to their six figure car with a mud covered, dented, garage painted Series 80.

The forest circus closed off the upper road years back. You should go to funnel lake, see red rock canyon, crooked meadows. The last two you can do in a car but it's cool to go look at.

Almost like me squeezing in between two Priuses at the hippie food COOP.
