@ewillis REMOVE THE KNOCK SENSOR. I did PHH last weekend and broke it, then broke the harness.

But this past weekend I replaced all the heater/radiator/coolant hoses (well, I skipped the throttle hose, because that broken knock sensor haunts me).
took me 18 hours or so. A bitch and a bear. But it is done. Just like my shoulder.

:deadhorse: <---This is me beating my dead shoulder. 20 hours under the car and hood make me feel old. Much respect to FT mechanics.

Hah, replaced all small hoses this weekend. When I dropped down to tighten the hose clamps, the knock sensor was in two pieces, connector was fused together and could not be separated. Had to add new (old) connector and locate the extra knock sensor that I knew was in a Baggie somewhere in the shop to install. Added an hour of time with arms stuffed in the fender.

Yeah...ummm no offense, but before I posted, I was thinking "I don't wanna be 'THAT GUY'" ;) So were the tabs push or pull? I couldn't tell from the mangled mess!
I honestly don't know. The piece is still broken inside the harness. I then ripped the harness from the wire.
Even with it out, inside my house, under great lighting, I couldnt remove it.:bang:

If/when you figure it out, post how. Save someone else the pain .
(for the record, lots of people break the k/s, I'm the rare breed that also ripped it off the wire)

@diamondfj So yours was fused together? That makes sense as to why even outside the car, I cannot remove mine.
How did you reconnect it all?
I have a new "used" knock sensor, but was unsure of the best way to reattach the new harness. What did you do?

Completely fused together. I dug at it with various tools and could not get it to separate. Finally snipped the connector, cut a connector with a short lead off of another harness and soldered it in place covered with heat shrink and some heat resistant loom. Lucky to have a couple of old harnesses to steal pieces from.

A little more body work and some fabrication on fender flares.

Got a CEL. Wonder if it is related to the stupid PAIR system that I bypassed. Will have to check it when I get home...

Push the tab to disconnect knock sensor. Forearm workouts FTW.

Here's a couple of short videos in the Dale Mining District the :princess: shot from this weekend.

For future reference: If you have a 91-94(OBDI) 80 and you jump the E1 & TE1 terminals in you diagnostic port to read the code then disconnect your battery but forget to unplug the jumper in your diagnostic port you will get a constant fast flashing check engine light.

This is followed by 15-20 minutes of searching on MUD and looking in your factory service manual trying to find out WTF a fast flashing check engine light means. Then contemplating what the hell you were thinking buying a 1FZ-FE. Cursing. Then realizing you are stupid and forgot to unplug the diagnostic jumper.

This is then followed by public shaming yourself on MUD to firmly etch this in to your memory so that you never do something so idiotic again.

Just don't let it happen again.:flipoff2:

Does anyone recognize this rack? Is that stock? It's a distant shot but is that a Prinsu? I like it...

What kind of camera mount were you using? The truck is bouncing all over but the video is actually pretty steady. Cool landscape. Was that Pinkham Canyon?

Took a quick mid week break to do some trails off 3N01.

Greased the ujoints which made a much bigger difference than I thought it would: clunk gone, rides smoother, ~10.5 hp increase.:hillbilly:

Can't wait to get my springs!
