I just spent 3 hours impressing the crap out of a bunch of Jeep owners with how capable a Series 80 is in the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, home of the US Army's European training command. 40,000 acres of off road playground.

They would lead, I would follow. I went everywhere they did, only with less effort.

Had a mud pit eat my front license plate. The same mud pit ate a Wrangler that went just before me.

Took a picture on top of Old Baldy, the big mountain in the box. Found out that the rollover detector will keep the inertial reels in the seatbelts locked up tight, so I couldn't use them to get down. No problem getting down, though.

Overall, had a terrific day. Want to go back and do it again.

Got really freaking tired of the rust marks on the bottom of the fridge from the basket. Well it happens because the worthless plugs come out and the fridge shuts off. Took care of the plug but now the rust issue needed to be solved. So after doing some research and picked the correct rubber to use. Good to go. I think I'm gonna make a batch. ;)

I took my kids and we joined Oil Country Cruiser's Rubythaw 2016 weekend. Awesome time with old and new friends. 13 rigs wheeling riverbed, rocks, ice, snow, snowy descents, muddy climbs and beautiful Alberta March weather. Great, food, beverages and raffle prizes.

Fitted new front splits, finally got rid of the last of the nasty Alpine stuff :p Ram mount for the GPS finally showed up as well. Went for a little Sunday drive with some mates to check out how much water was around as it's rained for the last week. Good excuse for a shakedown trip to make sure everything works :D Did about 50km off road, plenty of mud and creek crossings made for some fun. Bent the chrome strip up on the passenger door, got caught in a tree lol and lost a swaybar bush somewhere, but no mechanical issues.

Why not coat the fridge basket with bed liner? Scrape off the vinyl that is peeling and coat the whole thing.

What did you do to your air box? I'm planning on trying a 1fz lid on mine.

Just opened it up a bit with a hammer where it is flat coming out of the centre of the filter. It may be just in the mind but I think my EGTs are a bit lower across the board. A 1FZ lid might be the way I go eventually, they look like they would flow reasonably well.

So after 4 years since my Alternator upgrade, its time for a belt change.. My AC tensioner bolt broke in the process of changing the pulley as well. Removed the Battery Tray to make things easier

@Rob1983 Details on rear bumper/wheel carrier please?

dug into the rear axle as my e-brake hasnt been holding. found my rotors were pitted although the pads looked pretty good.

new rotors, pads and clips. adjusted the parking brake per the FSM, but it still doesnt hold. sigh.

New heater control valve, heater hoses, phh by pass, rear heater by pass, tstat. Phew! Took my time on it but did it roughly in a full day's work. Stoked to have a fresh and proper cooling system.

Well, with all the great weather I figured I'd better take advantage of it. Saturday was family day, and Sunday turned out to be as well when the wife wanted to go wheeling as well with little dude in tow. So, in goes the Strider bike (for breaks along the trail for little dude) and off to 7 Mile Creek. I missed the Horsetooth 4wheelers run 2 weeks ago and figured I'd find a few people at the trailhead that were headed up. While we didn't specifically buddy up with anyone there were plenty of people on the trail, and all were more than friendly.

Didn't get any pics of the trail crux, but I have plenty of vid since the gopro was left on.... I'll post that up at some point. Deep sections of snow at the top, and a few stuck non-locked vehicles (no rescues by me) garnered looks from wifey, but what else is new.
