And if you come to Cedar Rapids we have a brand new Treasurer's Office because of the flood of 2008. It's actually quite pleasant.

First, once tightened, they do not relax without just falling apart. Second, if you tighten them in tight quarters, the f*cking two wires start to spread due to the side load. Then, if you're really fortunate, one wire will slip off onto the unsupported rubber and then wreck the hard-tube you are trying to tighten it up on. My favorite, though, is when, as you tighten them, one of the wire ends pops out of the hole it rides in by hope alone and then you end up spending half an hour, lying very painfully on your engine, trying not to break something, and then realize you just tightened absolutely f*cking NOTHING 1/16th turn at a time. The most worthless piece of s*** garbage I've ever tried to tighten in my life.

I just spent $$$ replacing all my radiator clamps with the heavy duty band clamps with the bolts, they are a full stainless band about 20-25mm wide with an 8mm bolt to pull them up. Solid as and well worth the extra coin. Picture of the ones on the turbo

Drove to and from work with the P0330 knock sensor #2, bank 2 code. Marjan drove like a complete dog. Couldn't go faster than 35 over the last mountain on the way to work. Took it back to the garage, put it up on the lift, popped off the driver's side wheel and discovered the wire was unplugged. Plugged it back in and cleared the code and am back in business.

Yes. It was two blocks from the river so it was about 20' under crest of the flood. I meant the Treasurer's office. Hahaha

Looking through my CA experience, all that sounds mythical. It takes me longer to find a parking spot here than it takes to register the car over in your state.

On a tech related note, I repaired my rear sliding window runs about 9-10 months ago with some black FIP sealant. It has rained for the past two weeks here (maybe longer) and I haven't had one drop come in.

Before I start my P/M on a new rig I degrease the engine bay with GUNK and the entire underbody. This Is very labor Intensive and tedious work. Then I begin to remove all hoses belts V/C, T/B all Intake parts to the Inner fender, fan and schroud, battery and box Idler pully and tention pully. As much as I can get out of the way and begin to clean with a brass brush and mineral spirits. When Its clean enough to work on and not contaminate my new seals and gaskets I begin my P/M. Then Individual parts are either replaced or repainted and where I can I use a soft wire wheel, such as the valve cover to bring back factory finish. That pic Is of my 40th and the engine bay looks new. My 95 Is close but I pollished that V/C so It looks a little different, plus some paint mods.I am now working from the rear bumper forward under the 40th and I am at the front of the rear tires and It looks similar to the engine compartment for clean. Soapy water after mineral spirits than painted areas under hood get the 3M ABC treatment. I have a lot of time to do this and I know most men would find It hard to justify . I am restoring the 40th to as close to new as I can and will sell It In July Of 2016 If I am complete. She Is at 111190 mi. New H/G at dealer In 2011. Full service records from 4 mi. to existing every oil change at same dealer 1 owner till me and I have put 300 mi on It and It was a 250 mi. drive home . I hope this helps you. ! It Is a lot Of dedicated hard work, But these rides are one of a kind and worth It. Good Luck.!
