Busted up my hands rebuilding the power steering pump and putting the finishing touches on the transmission install. Then it got a quick bath.
Pretty excited to drive it to work this morning.

Suspension overhaul is next weekend. Yeah!

Sweet steering wheel what year did that come out of? Pretty easy to do?
Came out of a '93 FJZ80. And was $6! Which you can't beat.

It bolted right on. Only problem I ran into is the turn signal return and the horn disconnect don't quite mate correctly so I've got to drill some holes and fabricate a piece for it. Other than that it was a 5 minute swap.

Awesome I like the way that looks in there and looks alittle smaller too ill definitely keep an eye out for one now.
Hope to see some pictures of how you fix those snags!

Did some frame cleaning, prepping, POR-15'ing:

And prepped the engine/engine bay for painting:

They are Yokohama 742 s and say 7.00 r15 on the side wall. They are radials and D rated. At the shop , we were tripping on how skinny they were. I was worried about drifting all over the road but they handled way way better than I thought. A firmer ride than my prior bfg at 30x 9.5. They are skinny but don't look lost in the wheel well. Looks proper by my eye. After having a 7.50R16 tire on my rig for a number of years now, I'm so used to seeing it that when I see a 60 with fat tires, it looks goofy to me.

I've found that general drivability improved with skinny tires. High-speed corner handling is down, but I wouldn't want to drive like an F1 car anyway. I wish the Yoko 742s came in a 7.50R16.

I put 285/75/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on mine a few weeks back. replaced 12.5x35x17 BFG MT. About 1.5 inches more narrow and an half inch less overall height. Rides and steers so much better I couldn't believe it

Not much, New carpet and wheel covers in the cargo bay, and got my seats back and installed

apparently they are the rare ceiling mounted seats.

Are you doing a "frame on" restoration? Looks good.
