Got the "headliner" all finished up. I'm not happy with the back part of it so I may rip it out and try again. For the front two sections I put it up from side to side, but on the back section I went front to back and it was a lot harder to smooth out the wrinkles.

Overall though, this was an easy project and I think it came out looking good.

Finally installed the Ultimate Harness and Hella 500FF. Was a bit of work to route everything but in the end it works great! Will do light comparison pics tonight.

Installed this add a leaf in the rear. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ran-rs60612

Kinda hard to see it the picture but it is sitting a little high in the back. I expect it to settle out nicely.

New shocks front and rear. While being very cheap these are a big improvement over the 30 year old shocks.

Up next is a new radiator, water pump and radio.

Have a great week!
Look into getting your rad re-cored while you swap out water pump and stuff. The quality is just not the same these days, and you know it will fit.

I attempted to recore it but the shop said it is simply too far gone. PO must have run a lot of bad water through it for years. Multiple flushes by me and power flushing by the shop didn't change anything.

I have had good success with the champion aluminum radiator in another project. Got one on order and hoping for the best.

Which position in the spring pack did you add the AAL?

Those Monroe shocks you posted, did you use that model # for all 4 corners?

Thanks

Model 31094 on the rear
Model 32287 on the front

If you check out Monroe's website they list several versions for both the front and rear.

For the AAL I put the spring on top of the spring that is the second from the bottom. Did cut off the stock spring clamps and install new ones when finished.

These AAL's are shorter than I would have liked but for $65 it is a cheap fix. If this truck keeps running it will be rewarded with all new springs next year.

So what is he? Has a nose like the Hognose snakes but I don't think the hognose has the color scheme. Definitely not an AZ snake. Our's
all seem to have rattly thingy's on their butts

You would have liked my pet Gila Monster

I would've spewed every national secret I know if you even hinted at torturing me with it =)

I stretched out a t-boned Ford Taurus with my 62. Very light work for the 62 - the other side of the Taurus was chained to a tree. Worked like a champ, pulling out the dogleg and the B pillar.

I just got my champion aluminum radiator in the mail the other day, hopefully I'll be able to get it put in this weekend. Tried to re-core my original but the shop wanted $425!!! I was expecting a deal when I walked into the tiny one-man shop. lol

And what did you pay, approximately, for the new aftermarket?

$170 delivered in three days from California.

Search fj60 radiator on eBay and it will pop right up.

Mine arrives today and I will take photos and keep notes.

Damn, I guess I overpaid, ~$300 from Cruiser Corps

Now in the weekend on deck circle. Arrived in three days in good condition and appears to be well constructed. Time will tell.

New water pump, thermostat and hoses to go with it. I really hope this makes the truck run nice and cool.
