Meant to do some other work but damn, Gina! It’s hot!

Made these instead. I’ve got a bunch of this mechanical rubber and could make a bunch of these for cheapish…

Here you go. The Dorman Toyota Molding Retainers are dumb expensive at $5 for 5 (at Oreily’s) but you can now barely tell the entire truck isn’t fresh off the showroom floor in 1988.

After a heck of a work week it was really nice to get home on Friday and finish out the door trim and get a nice easy win to make the truck even quieter.

aaaaand add some bling bling at the same time. These 304SS foot plates finished out the door openings with the fresh new rubber trim seals added some extra fanciness. Easy Friday win!

Also, theres nothing more satisfying than peeling off protective film

If you are like me and really like all of the polished accents on the 60 series like the windshield trim, headlight buckets/grille, fender vents, snake blinders, gutter trim, door handles and even the Land Cruiser embelems on the rear quarter panels…. These match right up with them.

Give me all the polished 1980s goodness

Did you keep the old plastics underneath? I think TT did in his pictures

I didn’t but now I’m going to go back and add them haha. There’s so much sound deadening under my carpet now that they kinda work just fine without the old plastics underneath haha

Kind of a nice silver lining, but my truck is so quiet now I could hear a little squeak while test driving. Turns out my rear driver lower shock bolt loosened itself and I was able to turn it with my fingers. Tightened it and no more squeak

Edit: @BurntToast you were right. Keep the plastic under. Way better

I've done it both ways, but I prefer the look over the old plastic.

If installing with our door seals it looks ok without the plastic underneath. But if just installing the stainless plates with factory edge trim... I'd definitely go over the plastic.

Is that the DNP carpet kit?
