This is a great “first mod” in my opinion. I would have already done it if I knew about them hahaThere was a company that made something exactly like this years ago. A local buddy of mine has a 62 that he finished building 20 years ago and has these all the way around. He swears by how much it cuts the noise down.
did you get oem for the ones on the actual doors?I noticed a huge difference when I replaced the one around the actual doors.
I replaced the door seals a few years (from City Racer) but still have wind noise (mainly passenger side). Just ordered a set of these from TT, crossing my fingers.did you get oem for the ones on the actual doors?
Summit racing Precision brand. In 2021....$228 delivered, all doors and rear gate w hatch. Hardest part is getting all the little plastic parts out. They made a BIG difference for me.did you get oem for the ones on the actual doors?

Now I want the TT inner seal like you just did.

YES!!! I almost posted a picture of it to prove both the expense and sickness of land cruisers! Ha.....it's gotten huge, I need to hide it at some pointIm in the opposite situation from you, my seals on the doors themselves are completely flat and the originals from 1987 haha
dude. do you have a binder full of old invoices from your truck?
Thanks for the P/Ns btw haha

I did the door seals and the body seals all the way around the truck in one weekend. Makes a big difference, very much worth the effort/time.I replaced the door seals a few years (from City Racer) but still have wind noise (mainly passenger side). dude compared to stock all of it is night and day. All the rubbers are like 37 or so years old so its definitely time for like all of us hahaI did the door seals and the body seals all the way around the truck in one weekend. Makes a big difference, very much worth the effort/time.
The real test will be driving it for the first time after doing all of the sound deadening and new carpet.
Lets freaking go dude! If you are ever out near beaverton and want to give mine a look feel free to give me a shoutStarted turning this pile of parts into an 80 axle in preparation for the coil swap.View attachment 3904841View attachment 3904845

I know its not the weekend, but I was super skeptical about these edge trim pieces, and @TRAIL TAILOR severely undersold them to me when I asked about them, but holy s*** do they block the wind noise. I have 3 layers of sound deadening and it was still pretty loud in my truck and after putting these things on its like weirdly quiet in there now... and i only did the front two doors. I still need to do the rear doors and the cargo hatch area.
This mod was one of the first ones I did for my truck and I don't know why everyone doesn't do this. The door closing sound alone was enough for me to love this, it's so solid.
