Heck yeah man! That was the plan all along. It’s just really hard to find polished 5 spokes for some reason. I think they match the vibe of the rest of the truck really well!
They did a 1 off run of these f5s last week in polished aluminum! I think they’re only doing one run of them. I had to email them to order them, as they’re not on the site
I think grey 3rd gen 4 runner might be another good option to look for too. The main thing is finding the right color haha

One step backwards...
Recently lubed the suspension, U joints and drive shafts. Drove three hours on the highway and got a new vibration for my efforts. Removed the zerk fittings from the drive shafts and drove around town for thirty minutes looking for speed bumps. When I returned home, the front shaft blew some grease about three inches long. Will replace the zerks tomorrow and test drive at speed on the highway...
Anyone have a dunce cap?

Replaced window regulators on the fronts. Cleaning the backs now. 38 years of gunk on those gears is rough.
I did the same a few months ago. Definitely more difficult solo. Did the rear myself and took forever. Had my wife work the floor jack on the front and completed in a few hours.
I used to make my wife run the floor jack and pump the pedal when bleeding brakes/clutch, but now I've got an 8 year old who will help me if I let him finish whatever he's doing in a VR game, give him 15 minutes lol
So many cool projects in the works, or freshly completed! We've got nicer weather here now so I've been crawling under the rig a lot lately, working on the tranny and TC fill plugs which were both stuck. Finally got the TC plug loose, with a goofy little trick. We don't have a welder or torch (yet) that I could use for the "heat/beat/repeat" approach, so I had to get clever. First I got a RocketSocket to grab onto the badly rounded plug head. After lots of PB Blaster applications, and even beating on a beater bar with a hammer, I still wasn't getting anywhere. I only had about 6" of movement range with that beater bar, between the ground and where the bar tip was located. Finally got the thing loose by using a 1.5 ton scissor jack under the tip of the beater bar, and just raising the scissor jack slowly. That plug came off as easy as if it was brand new. I didn't even feel it go; I was paying close attention to keeping the bar lined up with the jack, and the socket centered on the plug. Didn't know it had moved until the bar touched the driveshaft. Wish I'd started with that trick. Won't work for everything but it worked for that.
Finally found a few replacement fill plugs which are on their way (thanks all for your recommendations on finding those), and I'm eyeballing that nifty bypass tube to send oil back to the TC while I figure out how best to get the tranny and TC rebuilt. I'm really deliberating on that part. Love the idea of getting educated on another major system, hate the idea that my rig would be down that entire time. Decisions decisions.....

That is a rough job. I did mine a few years ago and what a difference. They were as delivered from the factory so I had to resort to burning and pounding them out.
