$&@! the bright side.On the bright side, you've narrowed it down one variable!
Did you run Black Bear from the top, or is this closer to the power plant?

Chipped, cracked yeah, it was baddd!Must be nice not having it look Millennium Falcon going into warp due to a million tiny rock chips.
@Ian Crawford can you elaborate more (or what procedure you followed) on the adjustment you made to the steering box adjustment screw. I have a little play in my steering as well. I know I need to rebuild my steering gear box but trying to buy a little time before I pull the trigger on a rebuild. Thanks!I'll put this here, too. I took the 60 on a small road trip this weekend and my brother-in-laws rode with me in, neither of which are "car people".
One of them made the comment that it seemed like I was moving the steering wheel 45* before anything would happen. So of course, I started paying attention and noticing it too. Driving it every day for the past ~6 years, I guess I've just gotten used to the gradual increase in steering play.
Yesterday, I greased all of the steering joints, tightened the relay rod end and made a small adjustment on the steering box adjustment screw and what a difference, the truck drives like it's 1983 again!
You've got to love quick easy fixes with massive improvement! And not having to buy anything to achieve it!

Lemme know once you figure that out! I gotta do the same to mineInvestigating an easy relay conversion for the rear lift gate power lock (both my OEM relays finally went TU so I'm going to try to find a way to use easily available Tyco/Bosch or just parts store relays), working on a bracket template so I can easily mount a legitimate PCV catch can instead of my jerry rigged hardware store air/oil separator, and popping in the Cruiser Cult license plate lens gaskets.
In summary, not nearly enough!![]()
@Ian Crawford thanks so much man, that helps a ton! I’m gonna follow this procedure. Mine isn’t that bad but I believe it’s slightly out of the accepted “free play” range. Thanks againSure, I followed the FSM procedure here:

Go ahead and check the relay rod end first. Once slack was out of the relay rod end I went to the steering gear box adjuster. I turned it clockwise about 3/4 turn in ~1/8 turn increments. It felt pretty good so I did not go any further.
I'm told it gets tight at the ends if you go too far and you'd want to back it off.
