62 bumper guard preferred.jpg

So can anyone identify this bumper guard / brush guard for me? Pic is from BOT this truck is for sale there. I haven't seen many made specifically for the square eyed 62. I know that SOR made some along with other companies back in the 80s and 90s. Any help appreciated and thanks.

Not exactly the weekend, but I ended up getting my exhaust done this morning at a shop in northern Idaho. Nice and tucked up inside the frame, with a 50 series Flowmaster that's much quieter on the highway than my 40 series was.

Downside is it's quiet enough that I can now hear a very slight leak that sounds to be either coming from the manifold gasket or one of the two downpipe gaskets when under heavy load. So I'll go ahead and replace the gaskets with Remflex parts when I get the opportunity. Intake manifold could do with a good cleaning anyway so I'll kill two birds with one stone. Or maybe three and go ahead with new injectors.....

Only because I don’t have the correct equipment, knowledge and time, I decided to have a highly recommended local guy do a full detail on the truck. He has it for three days and goes thru everything. I’m dying to see how it comes out.

He sent me one pic. He removed the side mirror so that he could detail the paint under the mirror. I’m really likely this guy 🍺

Turns out my truck isn’t eggshell yellow, it’s actually white. Hmm, who knew? 🤔

I went with a Flowmaster 50 on mine also. I think it is the perfect amount of tone. It will get a little louder as it gets seasoned but not much.

I really like the more mellow tone of the 50 nowadays. I had a 50 before I eliminated the cats years ago and they made it even quieter, but a 50 without cats is a great sound for a mostly stock 60/62 without being obnoxious. Thursday I'm going to plug my air compressor at low pressure up to the tailpipe and do the soap/water trick to see exactly where that tiny leak is that I hear from my engine compartment. If it's a weld on the new system I can easily have the dude close it up, but if it's a gasket I expect that'll be a grunt.

Installed the much needed 62 style mirrors. Much more visibility! And since I can't live without blindspot mirrors I will be heading to the parts house to aquire some. Also made brackets out of superstrut, carrage bolts and spin on knobs from the hardware section at Lowes. I mounted them to my roof rack and attached my traction boards to it. Then I mounted my Shovel and axe/Mattock combo. I didn't fabricate the tool mount but it seems to be a sturdy product. All in all I had a fun weekend with the projects. I would have had my new wheels on also if Firestone would have agreed to mount them. Unfortunately they have a policy about not mounting used tires on rims. I'm sure it is an insurance thing or maybe a way to sell more tires. Looks like I will be going with my trusty shade tree mechanic for the wheel install.View attachment 2808930View attachment 2808931View attachment 2808932View attachment 2808934
Where did you get those mirrors?

Thats crazy about the True color....lolol. I used my rig for 7 years ish to haul material while overhauling my cabin.... when i was done i gave it a detail....the difference was amazing and it didnt take 3 days lol. How much is a 3 day detail gnna run ya?

It has zero rust. But it does have a couple dents and I don't want to repair those yet because the paint job is so uniques. Early 90's miami vice style.

Another step closer.
Got the console wired up with outlets and reinstalled after the carpet install.

Ha, I had those flip down cup holders on the back of my console when it was stock. They were great and very functional. Until I forgot and left them down when I folded the seat down. That was the end of that.🤣
Yeah I added those on. They don't appear to be the most robust things but they will be cheap to replace at least.
