Got to take a trip down I-70 via 128. I hadn't been on an interstate highway since desmogging, Sniper, header. It's still not impressive, but the added pep is noticable. It held speed much better on grades even after switching to a true 33" tire from the actual 31.5" BFG 33x10.5's.
3200 rpm used to be 75 mph, now it's about 83. Engine temp never exceeded 203°
Whats the new tires?

Here's another test for the vehicle, especially the suspension and steering, along the I-70 corridor in Utah. Travel 18 miles west past the Hanksville exit to Exit 131. Exit, then turn right and follow Buckhorn Draw Road, which heads northeast for a bit before turning east, paralleling I-70. That is the only stretch of dirt road that I ever drove my '84 FJ60 at over 70 mph. I was able to keep up with traffic on I-70 for a while. Quite an experience to say the least.

The plan is to go 80 axles with 4.10's and h55. But this works fine for most of the places I want go.
You will like the 4.10’s with 33” and the H55f. I’m excited to see what mine does on the highway with the sniper and headers. I’m sitting around twiddling my thumbs waiting for some parts to come in. With shipping insanity it may be NEXT weekend before I get my PS pump and vapor canister...

So I started getting some very annoying wind noise from my one-off T-T Expo 200 roof rack at about 70 mph.
I ordered a custom fairing from Colorado Fairing company

And some chicken coop plastic decking

I used to have a cargo pod up there and I had wind noise, but after removing it, the noise got much worse. Now I wait.

I was thinking about making a fairing for my rack, but I have three Jerry cans strapped to the back of the rack rendering it useless anyhow.. lol... plus I wanna put some lights up there. I guess I need rear swing out bumper and a LR tank before I can think of the fairing. 🤣

These design ideas kept me from doing this a long time ago.
I decided against overhead forward lights because I don't drive fast enough to warrant them. That and they glare in the dust.
I did put overhead lights on the front corners as "ditch lights". I hate cresting a hill, headlights pointed at the stars and I can't see where the **** the trail is. I have yet to run the wires to see if it is worth it.
I want low intensity flood lights on the sides of the rack for setting up camp late or for packing up early. So many choices.

I have a dual Jerry can holder on the swing out. I use it for propane or 5-gallon water cooler. It's nice to have.

How is this going? I’m curious how you chose the nv4500 over an h55?
The engine is in, worked on the cross member today, waiting on parts for the radiator and intercooler mock-up. 2 reasons for the nv4500 over the H55, price (1k vs 3k)
And the overdrive ratio, I have a H151(similar 5th gear numbers to the H55, .88 vs .84) in my 80 series and the overdrive ratio is garbage . But this swap has been done before using the H55.

Looking to buy the headlight upgrade from CityRacer. US market fj60s require the 12v lights correct? Does anyone know how to tell the difference based on looking at the truck? Haven't taken an EE class is years.

8000K of lumens? Are those 8000K or 8000Lumens? How can 8000K be so white when 6000K starts to get a bit bluish so I assume you mean 8000Lumens?
I love them. If they were brighter I think I'd get pulled over. The best part is flashing on coming traffic. It's like firing Photon Torpedoes over their bow. 😁
Low beams have a wide pattern and highs are way out there.

Do you have any photos of how they look on your 60?
My phone doesn't take good pictures. The glass lenses are flat but look like they belong there. Matt really knocked it out with this kit. The wire harness is top notch.
