Installed a brand new H55F with a rebuilt transfer case. Used the long spline input gear. What a massive improvement this is! Quite a bear of a job to do alone, but it can be done! Don’t have many pictures because I was two days behind schedule...

Stock gearing or did you regear the case?
The case is stock. I regeared the diffs with 4.10’s and I’m running 33”. I’m loving it so far! I haven’t gotten it into 4wd yet but 1st seems very strong now. I can imagine it will crawl nicely in 4wd.

@FJ Noob, if you have a lead on a good deal I’ll take those links as well 👍 🤪🤪

Haha...if I run across something I'll let you know, but I usually don't look at the cost when I'm spending somebody else's $$$!!!!!

I did some minor rust repairs.
Removed the springs and rings, only 1 of 4 was one with the manifold.

@FJ Noob, I'm a bit away from needing a transmission right now! :worms:Just remembered reading about the 34 and 38 spline model years a while ago.

Taking care of some small projects while I wait on my dizzy to be recurved. One is installing a new shifter seat which I suspect is the reason I'm having to pull up on my shifter to get it out of reverse. While I've got it all apart I took some time to clean up my shifter boots

Also made some progress on another of the small projects with the arrival of this long-awaited part:

Interesting, I've pondered getting the Taiwan copy of the 2F hose. Who'd you swipe from?

I got it on Ebay. Including shipping, the cost was WAY high for a hose, but it's the only new replacement I could find, aftermarket or OEM and I didn't want to deal with getting a questionable replacement from down under.

I kinda figured it was made by these guys since these are the only two existences I could find of this part online and both are from Taiwan: Fu Cheng Industrial Co., Ltd.- Automobile Rubber Parts, Rubber Bushing, Engine Mount, Rubber Boot, Air Hose - https://www.tc-rubber.com/proshow_436_air-hose.html

The quality is pretty good. My original was disintegrating so hard to use as a baseline, but this one's rubber seems a lot softer. I wouldn't use it on a high boost turbo, but it will be totally fine on a 2F. Other than that, it fits great. The worst part is that they printed "made in Taiwan" on the top side :(

Nice, not as bad as I thought. I bought up some NOS ones from Japan and the softness is the same on those as well. All in all, a good pickup for a replacement!
