Like this?@MarkBC - if you need to grind down welds I would suggest getting a rotary carbide burr set with 1/4" shafts. You can get them off Amazon or ebay at a reasonable price. I use the burrs an air die grinder, but you could also use the burr with a standard drill. You can grind 90% of the weld off with the burrs, then do finishing work with other tools (2" roloc sanding discs). Be forewarned, the carbide burrs can take material REALLY fast. Make sure you don't dig into the existing metal with the burr (I speak from experience on this one).
