Lots of little things this weekend I have been wanting to knock out for awhile. Someday the bag of money I am waiting on to fall from the sky will finally show and I can get to the big things I want to do.

Replaced the burned out rear cargo light:

Replaced my missing transfer case instruction sticker with one from cruiser corps:

Replaced old starter with one I got from @SgtChase who had it extra and let me have it. May replace it with an OEM one but this will get me through for a bit until I can figure out my starter wiring issues:

Also replaced all the battery cabling while replacing the starter with cable kit from @Fourrunner. Anyone having grounding issues or just needing to replace their cables, this is a top notch kit. Worth every penny.

And finally got around to replacing the wiper insert, body molding and caps which I got compliments of my man @beno. Thanks sir.

Headed to my first local Cruiser meetup today since purchasing this beat two years ago. Looking forward to it

Sign me up for this bag of money from the sky, lol

It is satisfying to get the little things knocked out.

Due to tough cold starts lately, and a bout of freezing fog that dampened the electrics,
I replaced the rotor and sparkplugs in the '87, tested the wires for resistance and dried out the engine bay.
The plugs are NGK GR4 and I gapped 'em to 1mm.
Vroom.

Snow/slush removal glamour shot here in CT. Preparing for the deep freeze to 7 degrees in the next few hours. Honestly glad the truck is still not rolling. Hate to be tempted to drive her in the liquid salt they’ll be spraying down on the roads by the gallons for rush hour traffic tomorrow morning. Going to stink driving into work tomorrow.

You’d think more people wouldn’t want salt on the roads. With its damage to vehicles and salt into the environment. My buddy lived in New Hampshire about 10 years. He had a new Toyota Tundra which was destroyed after a few winters even after washing the salt spray off his truck at home. Learn how to drive on the snow and ice people:bang:!!!

Owe... got my Trail Gear 2” wheel spacers on yesterday.

2”!! Man those are fat! Yeah it sucks here. Raining and miserable or be out there working on the truck. Got the plate all cut and drilled. Ready to attach and weld.

Dropped the 4 speed and transfer case out. Putting an H55 and rebuilt case in. Step 1 done this morning. Step 2 tonight???

Also, met up with some local Cruiser buddies to do some maintenance and have a few laughs.

Any chance you could show a before and after shot?

It was 82 and sunny here today if that helps. Haha!

Took the Hell Bitch to the Cabela's Overland Vehicle Meet which fellow mudder @SgtChase put together. This is the first vehicle meet up I have gone to since getting my 60 series and the first time its ever been on 'display' for folks to check out. In fact, its the first time I have ever taken a vehicle I own to a show type event. Lots of trucks there of various makes and build levels. Disappointingly there were only two 60 series there, but they drew a crowd. There were several 80 and 100 series trucks there and one 40 series. Mine was the only stocker truck and despite this event being geared more towards the overlanding modified crowd it garnered a ton of attention. Everyone likes a good 60 series. Lots of FJ cruisers and of course many, many *eeps. @SgtChase can correct me if I am wrong but I believe this went well enough as to become a regular thing, so watch for postings on mud for upcoming schedules for this event. Any folks in the north Texas area with 60 series, it would be great for you to come out and represent. Need more of us out there. Met a lot of great folks and despite the relative cold (@NeverGiveUpYota would laugh at calling this cold), was a great time. Thanks @SgtChase for putting this on. Had a blast.

@Robert Franzke you didn’t write the temp.... was it anywhere near this when I woke this AM here in CT?

Uh...no. Not even close. Might have been in the low 40's once the sun went down? Maybe dipped into the 30's. That's wrenching weather for a gal like you, but around here, its cause for concern. If we ever saw negative digits I am pretty sure the city would simply close. I recall one winter it got down to 8 degrees here overnight and the way the news covered it you would have thought our continued existence was in question. Would we survive the night? I'll check back with you in the middle of summer though. I'll make a prediction: Texas will be miserable.

Stay warm girl.

Robert, Nice 60. What year? I have its twin and mine is mostly stock too. I like the lights up front and have been looking around for something similar. did you add them? Where did you get them? I got mine about a year ago from AZ and have desmogged, refreshed suspension, newcarb, new exhaust, cat delete, removed heater under seat, new carpet kit, added H55, drawer system, clear tint, and a few other mostly cosmetic things. I am done for a while, but it would be nice to add a rack and a roof top tent....but gotta stop somewhere.

Great looking truck John. Yes yours is mines twin. Mines an '84 and was also an AZ truck. No rust but completely sunbaked and faded. Mine sat around a fair bit it seems so the sun actually did funny things like faded the gas guage needle on one side. Good stuff.

Lights are just some Hella 500 Black Magic lights. Got them off Amazon I think. Can be seen here. They are pretty basic lights and might have gone with something a little more pro if I did it again. These do fit in nicely with the style of the truck IMO. I have been doing my fair share of cosmetics as well on it but fit some actual repair work in as well with my cooling system refresh I completed in December. New suspension is on the list but mine needs a knuckle rebuild so that's most likely my next challenge with it (assuming nothing new comes up with it). New suspension depends on the bag of money I am waiting on to fall out of the sky. The money gods I pray to ignore me.

That bitter sweet moment when you get gifts to yourself and your rig but your rig is 500 miles away..

62 is up at valley hybrids for rehab though thankfully its almost over.

I have to give a huge shout out and thank you to the good people of White knuckle off road for astonishingly good customer service. Bought these back during their black friday sale. They went the extra mile during the purchase, calling me way after office hours to help me seal the deal. But wait there's more.

I ordered them with the intention of picking them up on my way back from stockton with my 62. Fast forward to last week and I get an impromptu email from WKOR that they happen to be heading my way for a family event and my sliders are done, would I like them to bring them along?

When was the last time you even heard of a company even remembering their customers locations. So last friday John and Natalie hand delivered my sliders because they were heading this way anyway. Wow what a class act.

Now that is customer service!

If you need sliders go to WKOR they are good hard working people

@white-knuckleoffroad :clap::clap::clap:

@John Staton the paint on yours looks great - is that original? My 84 is the same color but nowhere near the condition.
I can tell it has been resprayed and it was not stripped down. If you look closely around the truck you can catch some overspray on some gaskets around the glass for example, but overall it shines up rather nicely. There are a couple of small chips and one crack I want to get fixed when the time is right.
