Welcome aboard! I'll let someone else offer the official salute, don't know how to myself. An FJ62 is a definite upgrade from the Pontiac.Loaded it up full of instruments and headed off to my buddy's place for band practice! Just got my '88 to replace my '02 Pontiac Grand Am and it is much better for hauling musical equipment.

My '76 FJ40 spent some of its time in Massachusetts so I know what rust can do. But it only has 65,000 miles on the original engine and drives great, especially after installing the electronic ignition, with vacuum advance, from an FJ60.Thank you! It's a Michigan truck for sure (i.e. body rust) but I'm in love with it.
Wow, looks great!!! Can you shared how you dechromed it? Thanks!De-chromed the rear windows and lift-gate with new welts from @kevinmrowland. Very happy with the results - used silicon lubricant and a needle-nose pliers to guide the welting in. Took about an hour to do all three windows.

great photo new screen saver
I took the drawers out of my 100 and put them into my 62 and they fit "almost perfect"! I had to bang a little on the wheel well humps, move one of the bottom supports forward and have too modify the rear wing supports for speaker fit, not to bad. What do you think @reevesci, I didn't think they would fit so easy...? Might have to do another set for the 100

I worked on this MX missile program 35 years ago, before I bought my new '84 FJ60.
K,
I have a roll of that matching carpet if you want to make some new side panels. I tried to fit a set in my 87 and same thing, had to knock in the wheel wells a bit to get the drawers to slide in. They just slid into Poppy, so there much be a slight difference somewhere. I figured most guys wouldn't want to beat on steel to install the drawers so I dropped the idea.
As you can imagine, I had a lot of guys interested in the drawers, but when no one was there in the end.
Life as a cruiser vendor.... I might be able to get another set of the drawers. I'll need to inquire if they will sell me less than 20 sets though.
