Dropped in a freshly regeared (4.56) front diff, swapped out a CV axle, and installed a new 8.2 rear axle with e locker. Long day but fun.

Throughly washed the truck following 60 plus miles yesterday of 4lo trails with a camping spot at 8000 feet under the milky way is sequoia national forest. Was searching for a vista to photograph the comet and “settled” for the most amazing milky way experience i have ever seen which includes thousands of miles at sea and over 14 countires mostLy in africa where light pollution is not a thing. The truck has officially been in california 1 week today and have managed to get in over 100 miles of 4lo trails and well over 600miles of forest service roads. Looking forward to seeing what the year brings. RCI skids saved may butt a few times this weekend as the stock suspension is about 2 inch short of adequate clearance. It is nice to know that from the bumper to the rear axle I have 3/16 steel covering the essentials. Met a group at the top of a mountain last night that where shocked a lexus was there and proceeded to listed all the things you need to venture into the wilderness safely only for me to point out everything I had with me. They left shaking their heads with the last statement being “well that is rather fancy to bring out here” I laughed as they left and set up my tent and wished them well. Cheers to those explorers specially to the dad who was 77 and stil exploring. We had to help you onto the bike but I hope you keep going for another 20 years. I will be there to lend a hand and medical assistance if you need it. Never stop exploring. This is the mantra I preach daily to my patients, if you stop you rust. If you rust i cant fix that. Keep pushing forward, if the lrd choses that it is your time then meet him with a smile and tell stories of your adventures rather than defend you waiting to die on a couch someplace. Cheers to all that leave the house to explore.

soooooooooooo pretty drooling here

started laying some vinyl down. the two pieces next to the radio are just going to straight out be replaced. too many broken tabs and will be getting some prado silver ones. will do the doors on Saturday. going to just leave the steering wheel for now.

also, vinyl sucks. getting it flat on the surface is actually stupid easy. its getting everything to lay tight and flat on the sides and back side cuz of too many things sticking up. but good thing is i got it. there are a couple imperfections because i'm missing a slight chunk out of the wood grain on the upper left corner above the DAC button.

Now you need an CT200h steering wheel to match.

dont tempt me.

where did you get yours and you have to do anything to get everything to work?
The wheel I got on Ebay from a nearby wrecker, it had a dent in the leather so I snagged it for $70. A little cleaning and I can't even find the dent in the wheel. The airbag was from another seller on Ebay, also from a near by seller for $150. Airbag plugs right in. Horn and everything else needs a re-pin. So far I've only done the horn cause it's the one thing needed. I'll get to everything else eventually.

Do you have a write up or a little info on how you accomplished this? I’m highly interested in doing this at some point. The horn and volume are really the only things I use on the steering wheel.

Cmon we need details!

Where did you get the rear 8.2 from? I would like to swap in a locked 8.2 before I do my lift... or at the same time actually.

Put my Ironman bumper on!

How do you like it?

This e locker diff came to me via a friend for real cheap but didn't have a housing. So my local Toyota Dealer had a new housing sitting in parts and made me a deal to buy it. Regear was done by our local gear whisperer with Nitro gears and install kit. The wiring harness is from Offroad Solutions in Montrose. They hooked me up with a Bluetooth locker switch. 🤣
