I cleaned up and painted my JBA High Caster upper control arms. My wide and tall tires along with 5" of backspacing didn't agree with these arms at full lock. Ended up swapping them out for a set of Dobinsons. No more rubby!

Pulled the Radflo’s and sent them to be rebuilt and upgraded to resi’s and compression adjusters. Hopefully I’ll have them back late this week or early next week. In the mean time, I have to daily the other hoopty.

Where did you send them to be upgraded and how much did it cost? Been thinking about doing this to mine or seeing if someone will sell me the parts to do it- if they sent you the itemized parts list needed for the upgrade I would love to see that.

Do you notice a difference in the ride?

Just got the Hewitt Tech bypass kit in today to bypass the secondary air injection system. Any tips for the install? Looks pretty straight forward.
The night before you plan to install the kit, spray some penetrating fluid on the bolts/studs where the block off plates go. Otherwise, it is straight forward.

Sent them to Radflo. It was $1000 to rebuild and upgrade. As far as ride difference, on road it feels the same. Off road it’s drastically better. Yours may be better on the street depending on what spring weight you have, I also had them crank the pre-load up a bit to give me some more height which probably offset the ride quality difference on road. I run 700’s with a stock bumper and no winch because I like to party.
I’d just give Sean at Radflo a call and he could email you an estimate.

Took out the factory CD changer, no use for it since I’m changing out to an android radio. Fixed the glove box light bulb while I was in there.

Looking at the empty space where the changer was might make perfect handgun storage. Now to fiddle around and make a kydex holster mount for those mounting holes for the changer. Hmmmm...

Next up is the headlight, tail lights and turn indicator LED conversions. Gotta wait until it stops raining...

If any good comes out of the Coronapocolypse, my yard looks great, the house is clean, and I fixed the transfer case actuator myself.

Those that mentioned checking with the local Toyota dealership were correct. They were willing to do it, but at nearly $1,700 in labor. I honestly didn't think this was out of line, as I recognized what was involved in it, but I just couldn't shell out that kind of cash. And since I had some free time, where I could afford to really take my time, I figured I'd give it a shot.

I won't lie, I felt like I was in over my head at every step (especially when I got to the point I cracked the T-case open), but the original thread on T4R.org was well written and comprehensive. Thank God for the internet, and for those who have completed a task and were willing to share. The actuator itself is a fairly pricey little item--an OEM replacement is right at $500--but at least I saved a ton of cash in labor.

She lives to drive (in 4-low) another day!

Drove it to work and back... Had to go in and report the numbers of COVID-19 screenings we did for the days prior... March was a crazy month... but April isn't starting off well either (not COVID wise, just weather) three days of snow (granted only about 1" total) WTF 2020
