Test fitted and trimmed today at Hefty Fabworks. Made a few adjustments and the bumper is off to Powder coat. aGnus is wearing a mini skirt for a couple weeks. 🤣

Finally re-geared my 2007 4Runner to offset the taller tires and armor. Desert Toy Shop in Mesa AZ. They got sent the wrong pinon sleeve and one of the bearings, so it took a bit longer than planned. Very smooth and quiet. Much better torque going from 1:3.73's to 1:4.56's. Some came stock with 1:4.10's but not this one.

Flushed the tranny. I watched a few YouTube videos of various ways to do it and made up my own.

7/16” OD tubing from a hardware store, hand pump from Harbor Freight, and two paint buckets.

Pull the upper tranny cooler hose, insert tubing into hose, walk around to the driver’s door and set down a paint bucket, kneel down and hold hose in bucket while cranking Lexus under steering wheel, fill bucket until it spits then turn off Lexus. Fill second bucket with exact amount as first bucket and hand pump into open hose barb on tranny cooler. Let idle until primes good and run through gears. Be sure to 2nd start and stall the Tq converter some. Pump out and pump in as needed. I did 3qts two times and then did another 1.5qts to leave a little extra to top off if needed. Didn’t need it though. Used a laser temp reader on the tranny housing prior to pulling the full plug.

First flush on left. New on right.

Last flush looked good in the tubing.

Dood, those sliders! 🤘

My GX has been running hot -- like 205-213F regardless of ambient temperature. It's probably been like this since I bought it a year ago but I only recently knew the temperature once I bought a Scangauge II. The needle on the dash acted like everything was fine. Temperature was slightly below the middle of the gauge. I took a closer look in the engine bay and found that the previous owner probably did some cheap (possibly roadside) repairs -- hoses had Napa stickers on them and weren't fully seated on the engine and we're leaking a bit; the thermostat was non-OEM and had no jiggle hole at the top.

Today I fully serviced the cooling system. Drained all the coolant from the radiator and the block. Replaced the radiator hoses and thermostat. Held the system under vaccum for 5 mins to make sure there were no leaks, and finally refilled the system with fresh 50/50 pink stuff.

Problem solved. Water temperature is now 186F at idle after fully warming up.

Also don't forget to get a radiator wand and flush the fins of all your trail trophies (dirt). I get about 50 gallons of mud out of my rad and condenser after ever trail ride.

Grill looks very nice plasti dipped.

I went to the jungle that is downtown Los Angeles...the less glamorous side of DTLA.

springs and Hole in the Wall. I don’t need to point it out to @DRANGED, he’ll see it, but in the photo head on of the rig, look at the sign on the wall behind me. I’m underwater! And that shot was just at the Badwater basin pull off not a trail.

Installed 70" LED lights under the body to replace lights that were on running boards. It adds a ton of light for sure, it doesn't fade on and off like I expected though. I can also swap a plug and change to white instead. The lights were $40-$50 on Amazon.

Oil & Filter change, rear brakes, rotate tires, adjust tire pressure monitoring system, new serpentine belt and pulley (hah a squeak), new iPhone cord for CarPlay,

@brakeweight inspired me to flush my transmission fluid. Previous owner is full of crap when he said he replaced all the fluids in the gx when I bought it last August. As you can see, it is pretty dark in the bucket.

Removed my rear sway and tested flex with some Skyjacker shocks that a buddy had laying around. Full stuff was a little less than 17" and the other side at full droop was just shy of 33".
