It's mounted in a well just off center towards drivers side. Isn't yours?

Not that I've noticed

Maybe I should look at that

:hhmm:

I think I saw a while back that the later ones are mounted in a different spot than the left, maybe 78 was the switch?

early 77 has it centered as well.....my 73 has the well and bolt holes off center.

I pulled the old 1F. I didn't get any action shots since it was a one-man show.

My FJ40 sits in the background saying "Yeah, I remember those days!"

Nice work, what's going in it's place? I still push the original F... whew and it's a push too.... But it hasn't left me stranded yet.

I gave the blue 'Cruiser some love -

Goodbye, old friend. :crybaby:

Resurrected her!!!!!

Long story short we ended up running a line direct from the ignition key to the starter. 12-volts direct at ignition and no more acceleration problems. Friggin thing fired up and has been running like a champ. Not street legal yet, as I'm starting the bumper build this weekend, but it has taken a few neighborhood cruises every-other-day the last couple weeks. Rows through the gears without hesitation. Crazy considering all the frustration and drama heretofore.

Here are a couple of photos next to the 'new' Land Cruiser:)

Drove it to the hardware shop to get building supplies.
With the small block chevy it, people look around cause they can hear it but don't know what it is. Awesome feeling turning heads.:grinpimp:
Will likely drive it to work tomorrow. Its a lot faster then my diesel Hilux.

Put them both away for the winter - road salt and pigs to no go wel together.

My pig is in hibernation for the winter too. The combination of mud tires and my rear locker make it dangerous on the snowy icy roads we have all winter. Only 5-6 more months before I can drive it again :frown:.

No hibernation for mine. But single digit temperatures were an inspiration to complete the install of rebuilt front and rear heaters. Positively toasty now, especially with the firewall openings sealed, new weatherstripping on the doors and tailgate and sound deadener/insulation on the floor, firewall, all side panels and tailgate. About as quiet and warm as a pig can be in the winter.

Finally got those Mark A. shackles on the front...gonna go work on the others now.
