For the record, I can miss you. I drove out and around the park 3 times tonight looking and no dice. Maybe next month if I get some more solid information on where and when.
Which also means I drove the pig today. Fun stuff, but it's damn hot without AC. I think I know what my next project is going to be.
Put the fender back on, and rigged up the lights. Bought some more bolts and a tap for the holes. Sanded the bondo on the other door. Gonna paint tomorrow. I'm just rattle canning the truck with rustoleum. Do you all think I should put some primer over the bondo before laying down the topcoat? Keep in mind, I'm not going for professional anything. Just want to get it looking semi-ok for the safety inspection.
Primer helps even out the color difference before you paint final coat. It will make the final coat look more uniform. You would be surprised at what the primer coat shows too (bondo defects). I would definatly prime first
Replaced a busted heater hose. Luckily I was only a couple blocks from the house when the coolant started spraying out from under the hood and I made it home before it started overheating. Put on a new hose, replaced the coolant, and drove it the rest of the day, no problems.
Bought a 24 ft enclosed car hauler for the move to MN. Going to have to find some cheap old steel rims to put on the cruiser so it will fit inside. It's too tall with the 35" tires on it!
Painted the final portion, checked to make sure all my lights work. (the LED reverse lights I got don't work, I suspect they broke when I was grinding them to fit, am gonna buy proven ones from superbrightleds.com) Found that my windshield wipers don't work...not sure why on that one.
Today I trailered it home and unloaded it from the trailer.
Yesterday,I used a rock to remove my diff plug and all the threads and I polished all the rust off the cage with dirt, rocks and trees.

I bypassed the leaking heater core and started looking for the parts for the brake cyl rebuild... The ones I bought 2 years ago...
i looked at it as i rolled over and hit the snooze button
I jumped in after a huge rain storm since I didn't want to drive my car through the "flood" areas, well I made it 5 blocks before it died. F*cking water in the gas tank I think. Has anyone had any luck with those alcohol additives that help burn off the water?

Was there much fuel in the tank? 5 blocks isn't very far. Sounds like it could be something other than water in the fuel.
I am under the impression that the water would settle to the bottom of the tank. The 5 blocks I made it home was probably just what gas was in the lines. It was very strange it felt just like the truck was running out of gas, It died I stopped cranked it a bit, it bobbled and ran I turned it around and made it 4 blocks and then did the same thing and got it home. Parked nose up on a hill it will run all day long, parked nose down I think the water gets to the fuel pickup and it won't run. I have pretty much decided to try and get the HEET and run it through.
used heet a lot in my old datsun when i was in chicago. worked well. let it sit a bit, then crack the drain plug. the water is heavier and should sink, so it will drain out first.
