My FJ sliders bolted right up... some minor confusion over the e-brake cables (instructions suggested doing bad things to the stock cable mounts), but using a pair of jack stands to hold an end in place whilst I bolted the other end worked pretty well.
Do you remember which bolts you used ..I have sliders but no bolts...

Bolts were included ... but nothing fancy. Not sure if they were the suggested Grade 10.9 metric (Grade 8 equiv). The ones included with the MetalTech sliders were fully threaded, a bit long, maybe 50mm, but helped with the install - more fudge room. Can't say if they were 1.25mm or fine 1.00mm pitch, though the frame is tapped, if you have an 8mm bolt laying around, it's easy to test.

The OEM Rail Kit includes these parts:

1 16 x M8 x 35mm Hex Head Bolt
2 16 x M8 Flat Washer

Torque all fasteners to 22 lbf-ft (30 N-m).

Headed to Flagstaff.

Hi AZ Cruiser brethren. Looking forward to meeting more of you. This past week I pulled my spare tire crossbeam, cleaned/primered/painted w/rattlecan in prep for raise spare tire mod. Using 3/4" square steel tubing for spacers and 8x1.25x110mm bolts direct into factory threads to bolt it together. I picked up some tubing and silicon gasket adhesive stuff to put over the end of the pinch welded body seam which rubs a lifted spare tire near the trailer hitch, not thrilled about it but best Lowes had to offer.

Also replaced scary-old PO oil filter with Mobil 1 Extended Performance and filled with Pennzoil 10W-30 in the copper tub for high mileage engine (I reckon 195K qualifies). I'm losing roughly a quart every 250 miles, not good, on the bright side self-lubing suspension....

Met 'cruiser neighbors Rex and Rita who also have a green FZJ80, how cool is that?

It's always something. Today when I went to raise my DS window, the damned thing pitched forward in the sill. Later with some "help" it went up all the way but I'm afraid to lower it again until I can pull the door panel :-/

Cheers,
Brett Wilmore

Join the February ride of the month with Wilma, a great way to meet more members. Welcome

Looks like my "coming home view." Good luck finding snow. I think there may be a little left towards the Nordic Center and Kendrick Park up hwy 180.

Back in the mid seventies I lived on Aspen just off Fort Valley rd. Park right across the street and this was the view beyond that except closer. Just bought my first FJ40 the year before and the Weatherford Rd in the peaks was still open. Poor as could be but life was good.

installed a smaller 3.0 Supercharger pulley (thanks to YJeff) instead of the larger 3.2 stock pulley. this will increase the boost about 40% (7lbs vs 5 lbs)
