Charles, Installed your LED dome light this afternoon. Excellent upgrade; bolted right up and works like a charm. Thanks
Glad you made it home safely and glad that you are satisfied with the LED dome light kit.
Hopefully this light will attract a lonely moth.

Finished upgrading the brakes on my BJ74, 1990- HZJ75 Calipers, Early 80 series (4-bolt) dual-diaphragm booster, master cylinder bored out to 15/16 (to match HZJ75 sizing).

Notes for future players.

1.You need to slightly trim the disc backing plates to clear the later-model calipers.
2. You need to extend the input pushrod to the booster (eg. at the pedal clevis) by 20-25mm, the thread is M10 x 1.25.
3. It gets pretty squeezy to the sedimenter and power steering fluid reservoir (RHD) but nothing actually fouled. All the heat shield still bolted on (which is nice because mine are all high-temp ceramic coated)

I had a bit of a hard time getting the calipers to bleed (evidenced by clamping off individual parts of the system to chase the fault), ended up bleeding half the caliper at a time by clamping off the other caliper, removing one pad, putting in a spacer the thickness of the backing plates, pumping the brakes to push the pistons out, clamping the flex hose over the swivel ball, cracking the bleed nipple (with long bleeder hose into bleeder bottle) and then pushing the pads back in. Repeated that about a dozen times and got air bubbles on random intervals and that finally got me a solid pedal.

Finally ditched these shoddy shackles from the PO

And replaced them with some OME's

Medium springs up front and heavy in the back

Got a little stink bug to her, but she'll eventually settle and I'll be adding more bumper and rear storage when she gets stateside.
Thanks to Bryce @cruiseroutfitters for all the help and the patience with the communication difficulties across the ocean.

I bought everything from Cruiser Outfitters. FPO weight restrictions wouldn't allow them to ship to me though. I had to have everything shipped to me in AZ while I was there and then I just brought brought it all back with me. It was quite the production. Springs are the only thing that would be too large/heavy to ship to you.

New parts from Japan. Epic. Worth their price.

Front door upper and lower weatherstrips. I have the two piece door frames so you need two weatherstrips per door.

The -90K02's are the top portions of the door frames.

The -60010's are the lowers.

Then the lower rear door weatherstrips.

The correct PNs for the BJ7x series are discontinued but of course the later ones are available and except for a difference in the clip style (earlier: Serrated, later: more triangle like) they are pretty much a direct fit. They are specific to each since one door is bigger than the other and how they mate with the body is different.

Amazingly all of my rattling disappeared after replacing these.

Then some new fold down windshield handles. I am preparing for a new windshield frame and I want all new parts (or course).

Then new fan clutch for my truck and my client's truck.

These are the Aisin FCT-001. They are the correct fit for the fan, but the base is too small for the 8mm studs on the water pump. They will be drilled out tomorrow. :)

Got some stuff done this weekend.
I painted the fold down wiper arms that used to be on Beno's truck.

I fitted my re-cored radiator and my new condenser.

Old condenser had small tabs to attaching receiver-drier brackets.

I had to cut some metal on the new one so the brackets will fit. Some piping changes will have to be made also.

Replaced expansion valve, cleaned the evaporator and flushed the a/c system.
I hope to get the pros to vacuum test it and fill it with R12 Monday or Tuesday.

I also made a bracket to hold the relay that will control my 24-12Volt converter.
The bracket lets me put the relay next to the wiper motor.

How come the FCT-001? AISIN has a direct fit fan clutch made for the 13BT application. Better lockup on the 001?

While I was at it I installed new OEM mirrors as well.

These are from a later 7x series but they are a direct fit. Most of the old 1980's mirrors rattle and shake and I didn't want any of that.

Part numbers:

Difference between the two is that the later ones are not "breakaway" style. They are purely manual adjusting.

The gasket is slightly different and you can see the difference here:

But in all honesty it is a great upgrade over the old OEM iterations which are no longer available here or in Japan.

Would these mirrors work on a LHD BJ70? I'd love to replace the small mirrors that I have on my 1985 model.
