That looks great. I never thought about the cargo net. I have been waiting to pull my FRP because I haven't painted my half doors. That would be an excellent interim solution. What vehicle is it listed to fit? Thanks!

I was surprised how well it fit. It’s the Lucky Straps 50” x 15” cargo net on Amazon. I don’t have half doors and it felt way too open without something back there.

I’ll post a picture of how I attached it, but I think you could easily make mounts at the bolt points for the doors as well.

*attached pics of the connections. I think I’ll come up with a way to move it to the door mounts when I have some time.

Cool. Thanks!

Bummer, got a call from Toyota dealer. They received a H152F and trying to get rid of. $2500 +tax. I could not resist. Lucky troopy. My buddy Georg @orangefj45 will do the input shaft swap and install it. I’m excited. Currently it’s sitting in the back of the 60. It’s so pretty.

Welded the support for the drawers today. I’ll Sika the powdered aluminum faces to them so the face of the cabinet will be uniform.

I don't even wanna know how much you typically spend at your dealership for them to know you'd be interested in an H152F they have sitting around!

My dealership in Palo Alto provide me dealer prices because one of our 40 series (frame off) was parked in the showroom for a year 20 years ago while my son was in college. GM then gave me that huge discount and I was grandfathered into the prices. The one in Steven Creek, I have no connection but a friend ordered it. Toyota cancelled his order because these units are ONLY going to the 79 series that the mines are buying and not to the general public. 3 weeks later Toyota did ship it and the dealer did not know what to do. My friend already ordered one from Japan, so he called me and I had no choice...

That looks like a nice dooro_O

it was previously repaired and not done right , so far no good body parts have gone out . I did chuck a bunch of miscellaneous mudflaps and bumper parts the other day . If I don’t immediately realize what model/version it’s from or I have to many of them to start then it’s going away . Funny thing is what I payed at the dump yesterday is exactly the same amount that I got this morning from the scrap metal .

Now I am going to work on my cruiser and start putting the soft top on the kzj

Still a work in progress.

Pending some vinyl upholstery, speaker grills, etc. and a whole lot more interior work, but here’s the product of many weekends of effort. Behind all this is 3-4 layers various types of sound and thermal insulation.

Two things will be obvious. I am not an OEM purist when it comes to non-mechanical things; and, I am a strict adherent to the “More is More” school of thinking when it comes to speakers.

Installed overhead console, modified to include two multiport always hot USB chargers, and two 3.5” coaxial speakers as a mono center channel. These are powered by a compact 4channel amp under the driver seat, that also powers the 4” coaxials in the dash. Rewrapped in headliner vinyl to match, color matched oak (close enough) light bezels and grilles.

Homemade ABS door cards, with a lot of extra small holes from mistakes made, changes of mind, etc., all of which will be covered with vinyl and hidden in due time. Upgraded to OEM armrests/pulls, and Oak hardware. 6.5”/tweeter components. 1/8” closed cell foam backing on all side panels for audio decoupling and added thermal insulation. Rivnuts all around, which will be covered by color matched caps later.

Handmade ABS side panels, housing coaxial 6x9s, alongside other electrical accessories and power ports. Inverter stashed inside left side panel (not shown).

10 pounds of sh!t in a 1 pound box, as my pops used to say. Two amps under the left seat, powered 10” sub under the right seat.

Two rear tables by Svnty out of Australia. They are absolutely bombproof, and completely noiseless while underway. I modified with LED license plate style lights for switched task lighting.

All for now. Cheers.

Well, the 79 made it about an hour down the highway before I threw in the towel and took slow back roads home. Transmission/t case were absolutely cooking. I have had excessively warm drivelines but this took the cake. I couldn't honestly believe it would make the 1200 mile round trip. With the camper in and loaded up it was just too much. I still love this truck, but it sure is kicking my butt.
Next week will be about putting a plan together for a transmission/t-case refresh or replacement- something I should have known in the first place. Plan for the weekend? Throw everything needed in the Westy and roll on

Westy for the win!

So while the troopy is being tested with Georg @orangefj45 ive been working on the galley. I’m using a CORIAN counter top. It is an amazing material. I had to counter sink the sink (😂) so built a frame from CORIAN and glue it on the bottom of the counter and then routed it. It is seamless. The reason for all that, I want to cover the sink with a cutting board and the faucet folds in. The glue they use melts the material and blends the two surfaces. It’s used in restaurants and hospitals. We have it on our 80 build for 6 years and 100k miles and it’s like new. This is after removing it from our old kitchen that was used for 26 years.
