That is one hell of a clean troopy! She's gorgeous. What year?

Cheers mate! The big girl is a 2000 HZJ78R. It has had a pretty relaxed life, until last year owned by a 65 year old retired heavy diesel mechanic. I think for a second-hand Diesel LandCruiser, it's one of the better scenarios.

I do wash/wax it weekly, as I live next to the ocean, so it's pretty shiny most of the time. Thanks!

Spent money on it, having a little birthday. Terrain tamer parabolic springs for the rear with new hardware ect and smart coils for the front. Terrain tamer pro adjustable shocks all around and new genuine panhard bushings. Hopefully she's happy after that. Hopefully get the gear next week, so we can organise a suspension comparo with my current setup, OME springs, nitrocharger shocks. Cheers

This is gonna be good! Looking forward to our install session.

Decided that I should get new shocks in the next couple weeks (months). I’m narrowed down to tough dog from trail tailor, bilstein, or OME. My current ome shocks have seen better days. I can’t even tell they’re yellow anymore.

On the list for me as well. Basically the same list as you, not sure what I'm going with either.

Finally started on the Turbo Intercooler setup for my troopy. It’s funny how a 1HZ in a 73 is so much fun to drive while in the troopy it feels like it is struggling all the time with the extra weight.

Oem CT26 turbo fully rebuild and top mounted intercooler next.

Someone glued the oil pan to the engine so that kept me busy a few hours today trying to get that off in one piece.

That's normal with the oil pan on a HZ/HD - FIPG is what Toyota specs, no gasket available

Yeah this one definetly had been dropped before and remounted with something else , the factory toyota stuff is not that hard to let go , this stuff was not letting go , I had to reach out to almost dramatic measures and bfh and giant pry bar where involved here !

Engine had only 29 k km on it and came out of an ex Red Cross cruiser , they must have had to improvise when doing a repair.

I want to see more of this buildup. I'm curious about spare Tyre storage and such. Do I see a drawer platform?

There is a drawer platform under the tray. The tray will be exposed to the elements so it will be water tight and self draining when finished. The tyre will be hung off the rear bar so I can use the tray for storage and to one side so I can open the passenger door to get to the drawer without moving the swing arm or drivers door. I have designed the rear wall so it does not interfere with changing the top over to the full factory roof which I still have whenever the need arises.

Joe, How will it be supported on the turbo side? From the pictures, it looks like it would be cantilevered off the intake mounting flange. Like the project, so keep the updates coming. Thanks

Hi Larry , I fabbed a bracket that mounts on the exhaust manifold and supports the IC on the ps side. Once it is all together I will post a few more pics.

BP51’s?

I’m daydreaming about TT parabolics with BP51’s.
