After 29 years the battery terminals were cracked and crushed shut. So what I thought would be a 30 minute job turned into an afternoon solder and crimp fest but now we have all new gizmos and doo dads.

Not my necks of the woods but thought you boys would appreciate this sweet swedish ride.

Wow - nothing not to like there. Do your license plates/number plates have the truck series on them? That seems unusual. Love everything about that tan truck - lift, wheels, rack - a total package.

I didn't even know that was an option! I saw you driving around a few times with that plate. I left about two months ago, but picked up my 77 in Dallas around Halloween. It was super easy getting it back into the States- definitely the easiest part of moving across the world.

Oil change requires the correct filter and drain plug gasket:

Then new hood bumpers:

It’s the small things that eventually matter.

I’ve been down and out physically for about a month which has really hampered any wrenching (or any real physical work) and impacted every part of my personal and professional life.

My PT said to try some light physical activity and see how my body responds.

And with the annual Outlaw Run at the beginning of December, figured it was time to see how my body does.

So, heading in for some new Terrain Tamer rotors (usual stock items for me) from @wardharris and @orangefj45 , OEM pads, and a bearing repack (generally recommend every 30k Miles).

Also getting a new OEM fuel filter and filter sensor as well.

Swapped out my diff fluids, transmission and transfer case with some new gear oil too.

Gonna be a long night.

:)

You prefer OEM pads, Onur? Or they were just handy?

How often does a fuel filter sensor need to be changed?

You can learn a lot in this joint...

Pads are pads. Consumable items. It’s what’s in stock and they work great.

FF sensor: when it goes bad. Or be OCD like me and replace everything as you touch it.

Every system on this truck is 32 years old. They are bound to fail eventually.

Today was cooling system.

Trying out the Shell Rotella ELC red fluid.

Flushed the cooling system. New thermostat and gasket and new radiator cap. Toyota standardized the Land Cruiser rad cap in 1981:

T.Rad makes the cap (as well as the radiator).

So, I'll preface with: I have no idea what I'm doing. Does a coolant flush necessitate a thermostat change? If so, why? I'm planning on doing one next weekend, unless I need more parts. It seems fairly straightforward...

How old is your truck? When was the last time either the coolant or the thermostat have been changed verifiably?

If you don’t know, then the answer is above.

If you do, then proceed with how Toyota recommends servicing or when your thermostat was changed.

What year? What model Land Cruiser sir?
