I had a 1995 Defender 90SW (384/500) and loved it however there is NO COMPARISON between the Land Rover product and the Toyota.

The roof line on the Defender is actually deceiving. The window tops are lower than those of the 70 Series and you have to bend slightly to see out of them.

It was wired comparing them via eye ball the body really seemed tall comparatively. I feel like the 70 widows are bigger and keep useful.

I looked long and hard at a few ROW D90s before buying the BJ74. Very happy with my decision. I didn't do anything to the BJ74 today, but the rear cargo system has been sprayed and is ready to be installed once the truck comes back from the body shop getting the rear door fixed and FRP top reinstalled.

We are heading to UT in March and I'll be taking the 74 back to the Hole in the Rock trail! Fun times ahead.

I finally installed the new parking brake lever. Black instead of gray but it looks great.
WITH shipping the total cost from JP Carparts was under 51 USD.
As noted elsewhere by CDan, the brake warning switch swaps over easily.

Old lever with leprous-looking grip.

New lever wth old switch installed (on the far side). I guess I should vacuum.

Yes, the parking brake lever is available in the US, or so my Toyota dealer told me. I was am told that it has not arrived at their dealership yet after 6 weeks.
It was cheaper and faster getting from japan.
