They are actually very similar with the exception that one is reliable, has an A/C that cools, a heater that heats, doesn't leak water into the cab and doesn't leave a trail of various lubricants.

I think this is the best review I have read between the 70 and Defender.

I had a 1995 Defender 90SW (384/500) and loved it however there is NO COMPARISON between the Land Rover product and the Toyota.

I found it interesting that our rooflines were roughly the same height dispite my 3 inch-ish larger tires and obnoxious lift... Not going to lie that defender was sexy.

I finally find this to be an important technical contribution Charles.

I've found Charles' build thread and other supporting posts to be very helpful.

It's starting to get a bit "audizine b5s4 forum" in here.

The roof line on the Defender is actually deceiving. The window tops are lower than those of the 70 Series and you have to bend slightly to see out of them.

It was wired comparing them via eye ball the body really seemed tall comparatively. I feel like the 70 widows are bigger and keep useful.

I looked long and hard at a few ROW D90s before buying the BJ74. Very happy with my decision. I didn't do anything to the BJ74 today, but the rear cargo system has been sprayed and is ready to be installed once the truck comes back from the body shop getting the rear door fixed and FRP top reinstalled.

We are heading to UT in March and I'll be taking the 74 back to the Hole in the Rock trail! Fun times ahead.

You have Not been here for that long sir.

A lot of my commentary is tongue-in-cheek.

And that's the fun aspect about interacting with Charles. He knows that. And he is a good sport. There is no maliciousness in my commentary even though it comes across that way.... I'm from NY, what the **** else do I know to do?

Is that clear enough? ;)
next thing you know this will be compared to a Gixxer forum. We're gonna have to up our game, beno.

I finally installed the new parking brake lever. Black instead of gray but it looks great.
WITH shipping the total cost from JP Carparts was under 51 USD.
As noted elsewhere by CDan, the brake warning switch swaps over easily.

Old lever with leprous-looking grip.

Played with my truck.

It's a damn truck. I like that it is so.

And all the clowns in GA have no clue what this truck is. The "coal roller" douche bags think they have some propriety over what "diesel" is

Perfect for these awful clowns in GA...

I hate GA more than anything. A terrible place. The perfect place to come and see Donald Trump's "perfect world"... I cannot wait to leave this awful place and get back out west.

Into the purity of the Canyonlands, into the highlands of the deserts...

Even Georgia has numerous roads that all lead westward. Perhaps you should chose one.

I grew up in Georgia and, it's not for me so I won't be back. There is no better time to act. Head west.

Yes, the parking brake lever is available in the US, or so my Toyota dealer told me. I was am told that it has not arrived at their dealership yet after 6 weeks.
It was cheaper and faster getting from japan.
