There was at least 2-3 things that should have taken priority over this in terms of FJ40 purchases - a lift kit? Orion? But I needed fender flares, and I needed something to make the pallet shipping from AZ worthwhile. Plus I’ve been coveting one for years.

Flares will require some assembly prior to installation.

$861 later from Toyota and the front locker is back on and functioning

That's what I get for going through every puddle I suppose. Anyway, they basically bought the connectors for the locker side and re-pinned that, then built a new sub harness to connect to the main harness for the actuator and the sensor for the dash light. I asked them to reroute the wires along the axle and then maybe follow the brake lines up to the fender for max protection so this doesn't happen again. Expensive lesson.

York or Lancaster Toyota?

@fireball - York Toyota. Picked it up today, wiring job they did was MEH. Also, I think I got the front locker to engage, but the dash light did not light up. It doesn't appear they put any wires in the magnetic lock sensor.

Should this have wires in it?

Yes, but I expect it's not needed.

Yeah if it's anything like the rear that should have wires in it. On my truck I ripped those wires off on something and it never shows that the rear axle is locked anymore, but I know that it is cause when I turn the dial I start moving forward haha. It shouldn't affect actual performance at all, but for over $800 I feel like they should have fixed that!

Edit: my front locker, which does indicate correctly

It's a madhouse out there. I have to do my normal grocery shopping and I'm wondering what will be left! A friend of mine bough 200lbs of flour and a 6 month supply of freeze dried food. His basement looks like an episode of doomsday preppers. At least I know whose house to raid when the apocalypse comes.

My wife saw this on FB yesterday. You can likely leave the trailer at home if your grocery store looks like ours.

Thank You. I agree, for the money it should be fixed correctly, especially since I pointed out to them several times that both parts needed to be fixed and was told that they would be for that price. Nice to know that both the tech and service writer took the time to lie to me about it.

Are you going to take it back?

Yup ... I called them the same day I picked it up and told them it will be back on the 23rd. Will likely leave it covered in mud as a TY for their solid service previously.

@Pacer ... It's all fun and games till you have to wipe with the hand.
