GNR Appetite for Destruction is 30 years old, so they made this commemorative box..... "What's in the Box?!??".....

Does it have a swatch from Axl Rose's original kilt, or a big square from his fatassed tablecloth kilt?

Great tune. Sultans of swing is mine. Played it at our High school ‘battle of the bands thing.

I wanna say at mine we did Paranoid (Sabbath), Dance the Night Away (Van Halen), something ACDC and Number of the Beast (Maiden). That's a long damn time ago.

Haha. I was in 3 bands that year. The one that we had a CD - so we sung the 4 originals from that. The other was more jam band based. We did sultans, Sugaree, hard to handle (GD version not the crap crows) and new minglewood blues. The third was harder covers. We did an obscurish AC/DC, and some other stuff that I don’t remember. Still got a video of one of the gigs with the original band. Oh and you probably saw the YouTube of the other later band I was in,in my late teens.

Some of you may know my daughter the recent college grad has been in Austria as part of AIMS in Gras a month long Opera singing program. As someone that had just graduated, it was quite a surprise to hear that not only did she enter the "Meistersinger" competition at the end of the program (with another 100 or so people) but she became one of the 8 finalists.

What that meant is she got to perform to an Austrian audience of about 1000 - complete with symphony orchestra backing her up, judges, professional Opera singers, and agents in the audience.

Soooooo.... Not only did she win first place, she got audience favorite! She then got to sit with one of her singing idols, who sent her a text the next day saying her agent has a part for her in an Opera in Vienna. So yeah, she's basically a professional Opera singer in Austria now...

Oh, and yesterday I saw that Vienna was named the best city in the world to live. No US city made the top 10. I might have to go visit!

Unfortunately, the video that I have of her singing is bootlegged. No good video yet... but the sound is decent at least. If you don't know German Opera you'll likely not know what she's saying, but if you like opera in the least bit, you'll appreciate the talent.
