Everyone,
Ages ago I installed a Wilwood disc brake kit from Manafre. It was the old style for which you had to remove the entire hub to install or remove the disc. Several years ago I bought the upgrade kit, with the new style disk that simply pushes on over the wheel studs. However, I just got the time to install it, and there were either no instructions with it or they were lost.
It seemed straightforward. I removed the hub and bolted on the new caliper-mounting bracket. It then appeared that I should simply unbolt the old disc from its carrier, which incorporates the wheel studs, re-install the carrier and hub, and slide on the new disc.
Nope. The disk contacts the old disc carrier. It clearly isn't supposed to slide on over that. But that unit, as far as I can see, incorporates the wheel studs and can't be separated.
Has anyone done one of these? What am I missing?
Thanks . . .
