I thought I would add my install to this thread as I found it helpful but it seems like there was still some murkiness on the wiring of the on-off-on switch. I used a pre-wired one from amazon and it’s working flawlessly. I can now have all the Nannie’s on, vsc off or vsc and trac off.
From what I understand vsc is stability control and has so do with reducing vehicle yaw (like in a corner) and trac is traction control and regulates forward motion tire slip. It’s nice to have these individually as sometimes you need wheel flares to clean out tread in muddy conditions or just want to have fun in a snowy parking lot.
Either way I agree both of these are crucial safety features and I plan to keep them on for a majority of my driving, but I like to have the control to turn them off.
On a side note - I was having vsc interventions on winding roads and it is due to a failing steering rack (which was pointed out here). The rack is getting replaced, but I still like the ability to turn off systems when needed. So thank you to this thread for helping me diagnose that steering rack issue from those vsc interventions!
Anyways - here is my diagram and how I wired it:
Like the OP noted A43 pin from the connector at the ecu was connected to the middle wire. Ground to one and back to the pink/black wire for the other.
One thing I didn’t realize was that the on-off-on switch works opposite how I though (see below last photo) so when you have the switch depressed to “II” it connects the middle and the opposite wire (the one under the “I”). I had that backwards but hopefully the last image is helpful for those wiring it in.
Finally - confirmed that you can turn off vsc while driving. Then turn off track and vsc while driving but needs an engine key off and the switch back to vsc on to reset the system. Confirmed also that center diff lock and all other systems working as they should.
