OEM over here since its the correct metric size and it just looks better. Some have gone with colored silicone which is fine but not something I *think* I would do. People complain about the 2-fast-2-furious look but they will last a long ass time.

I went OEM too. Some of the hoses are still cut to fit though.

Silicone for mine while chasing a code - not big on the blue, but it was available. Black for the next round.

Did you find the reason for the code?
Yes. 71 clogged hard line, bad vsv, and modulator. Most time was spent trying to clean the crud from the intake. No repeat and been going 40k or so.

Currently have my 97 fzj80 engine torn down chasing oil in the intake and replacing everything I touch including all vacuum lines.

looks like the spark plug tube seals were the culprit of sucking oil mist into my intake.

I found and am using this Toyota factory vacuum diagram for throttle body, intake, EGR, evap.

Joey Wits End has the 3.5 mm Factory hose part number 90999 - 92003, this is by far the best way to go.

You'll see in the diagram referenced 90999 - 92002. 92002,3,4 are the same hoses in different lengths of millimeters, the 92003 Joey sells is the best way to go for price.

Happy Mudding :flipoff2:

This photo frightens me! I need to replace my hoses.

Not a bad idea I've been working on it after doing these vacuum hoses every hose in the entire truck will be new.

I used the Gates Green stripe and constant torque Bell House washer hose clamps for most of the heater hoses along with the four heater hoses to the rear heating core under the truck.

With having to drain the block It's also great time to do a complete cooling system refresh water pump thermostat, every hose ,all of it.

When replacing the hoses is it a good idea to replace the other parts under the intake manafold? If so how much did they roughly run for the four pieces?

They aren't cheap. I just follow the testing procedure in the FSM. Its pass/fail so its easier. If you just want to eliminate eventual problems then replace all.

I did the same as well have followed the factory service manual and tested everything into their it all checked out under voltage under vacuum atmosphere the whole bit

other than replacing all the hoses I followed the factory service manual and tested all the components.

All the vacuum switching valves tested good, ohm solid in speck, under vacuum, atmosphere, and voltage. When applying voltage the solenoids felt solid and very responsive not lazy.

I am replace the tiny orange / black check valve as it felt suspect along with the hoses. The little 90 degree hoses are $18 from Toyota, I'm checking on a 1/4" gates fuel or vac line replacement.

I'm reasonably assured the components are good to go, now that I've done it I'm not worried about pulling the upper intake again though it's really a one banana job

So happy I sent my injectors in to RC engineering though! Look at the before and after numbers, wow!
