OK folks, the time has come for the 3rd Annual North Meets South Uwharrie wheeling / camping weekend.

Dates: Friday, June 15th - Sunday, June 17th, 2007.
Arrival: Arrive when you want / can. Some folks will get there during the day on Friday, some will come late Friday night and others will roll in at various times on Saturday.
Departure: Sunday, June 17th. Most folks will most likely motivate and roll out early morning. Others may be inclined to stay and ride for part / most of the day. Super flexible and up to you!
Accommodations: Camping at a TBD campground. If we have enough people camping (15-35), we'll do the Badin Lake Group Camp. If the group is smaller we'll be at Arrowhead Campground.
Sound off, who's camping???? The sooner we know, the better chance we'll be able to reserve the options we want.
Directions: Plan on about 3 hours travel time from Greenville, SC. Anyone that needs specifics on travel information, directions, etc., let me know. Mapquest from Greenville, SC to Troy, NC:
http://www.mapquest.com/directions/...ille&1s=sc&1z=&2pn=&2a=&2c=troy&2s=nc&2z=&r=f
Communications: Cell coverage is spotty at best in the Uwharrie Mountains. On certain ridges within the trail network you may get service but it is still poor. We will rely on hand held FRS 2 Way Radios and CBs for rigs equipped with them.
Food / Beverages: Dinner one night is on me. Night / Menu TBD. Otherwise, BYOF. Breakfast at camp, lunch on the trail and dinner at camp. BYOB. There is a short order grill at the Outpost a few minutes from camp for rations, gas, ice, air, etc.
Trail access: By the day or season. Passes available at the Outpost or a few other outlets. Locations, costs, display instructions:
New OHV trail passes for the 2007 season will be sold at the following local stores:
- Mullinix Store, Hwy 109, Uwharrie
- Eldorado Outpost, Hwy 109, Eldorado
- Swift Island BP, Hwy 24/27 and River Rd.
- Jake's Store, Hwy 109, Troy, NC
Who Should Attend: Everyone!!! From stockers to the most capable rigs, Uwharrie has something for everyone.
If wheeling isn't your thing, there are lots of other activities to do such as fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, shooting, horse back riding, golfing, running or just chilling in camp reading a book and enjoying a relaxing weekend in the woods.
