Update: The UC guys look to be heading up Friday afternoon and camping Friday night and Saturday night. So, anyone that wants to camp one or both nights, those guys will be there and representin'!! They also plan on some night time trail time.

For those of you that are coming in Sat morning / afternoon, we'll just need to figure out logistics on when and how to meet up. The UC guys are big on the 2 way radios as opposed to CB's ('cause not everyone has CB's in their rigs) so that should be a start.

It's going to be a great weekend of wheelin'!

When does everyone plan to roll in?

I'd like to try to be at the outpost at 9:30ish Saturday morning. It is Saturday guys, and it's an hour drive from my house. I aint trying to get up at the butt crack of dawn.

I agree, Alex. Chances are people will roll in at different times as seen above.

I won't be there at 9 or even 9:30 for that matter. I will be waiting for 2 different folks coming in from out of town Sat morning before I can head that way. It will most likely be around 12 for me.

We just need to create a way to find each other on the trails. CB's are the best choice but 2 way radios are a great backup plan since not everyone has CB's.

What do you guys think?

well we haven't worked out exactly where we are camping, most likely in the "big open field" near the trails........... I never been to URE before so I am not exactally sure if not there we will be at Badin lake. I am going to talk to Andy to night and will make the final descion on where we are camping and I will post up for you guys that want to come join us....... we should be there around 9 o'clock Friday night so come out and have a cold one with us or just shoot the breeze JP

Big open field is known as hunt camp, by the Badin lake anyway. Good place to be if you are going to have a decent sized group. What route are you all coming up anyway ? If by 95 then if you need some help just holler, here in and around Fayyetenam.

We had better not be comming up 95. I'm not getting anywhere near Fayetville. I'm going to be up in Lumberton my parent grew up there and that's where all my relatives are. There are only so many times I can see those south of the boarder signs.

Charlotte is only an hr and a half from gville up 85.

You guys are talking about Badin Group Camp. It's near the lake and has 3 separate areas and 1 is still available for this weekend. I just called and got the low down and logistics and fees. Talk to you soon.

For the NC crowd coming in at various times, the UC guys will be camping in the Badin Lake Group Camp, most likely site C. You can always check there for folks. As far as CB / 2-way radio communications go, this is from Alex, the UC President:

On CB we'll be on channel 4.

On 2-ways we will be on channel 15 for long range.

That should give you a way to track down folks on the trail no matter when you arrive.

When I camped with UC at Tellico, there was a crowd that moved a little slower than the rest the next morning and got a later start because of the good time and beverages consumed around the campfire.

There are some guys from another club (Mud Devils rock mafia) that are always fun to watch meeting at the outpost at 9am..
